Any bay area places to install and tune an ECU?
Thinking about getting a tune-able ECU after my NA mods are done, to adjust the fuel map, and up the rev limit, remove speed limit, etc...
Anyone in the bay area do this type of work? I don't want to send my ECU all the way over to AAM, Technosquare, TurboXS, etc... I think it'd be much more benneficial to tune while actually ON the dyno.
Do we have options around here?

Yeah, thats what im talking about. You mind if I ask a ballpark figure, how much the unichip and tuning might run me? You can PM if you like
I know I won't see a LOT of gains with ECU tuning, especially with simple bolt ons... but it may be worth it.

Dan, you might want to call RPM Engine and Machine in Rohnert Park. They did a lot of tuning on my old Celica-might be worth looking into just because they are so close. Brad or Martiñ are the guys to talk to.

Anna - I'll check em out... though I thought they mainly tuned American and muscle cars?
Who in the forum here has some sort of tuned ECU or re-flash? Pros/cons for them? I know we can get the AAM reflash, Technosquare reflash, or piggyback stuff like the Unichip, TurboXS, etc...

Unichip fo sho.
I think it's like $800 for the chip + $300 for tuning/install for an N/A application. A bit more for Turbo since you need the solenoid.
Ted's a pimp, he'll get it down to a tee.

Anyone know if it would be worth it for NA without Cams or headers? If I finish up my bolt on plan, I'll have the following:
JWT Pop Charger
Motordyne 5/16 spacer
Crawford HF Cats
Borla TD Exhaust
KJR Lightweight Crank Pulley
Could this ~$1000 price tag net me another 20HP? I know its all variable, but wouldn't want to dive into it unless I would see some significant gains.

If i were in your situation, I would do the most bolt on's that, 1) you can afford, 2) seem possible or necessary for you, 3) that you want and then use the ECU to get everything working together.
I might be wrong but wouldn't you want the ECU once you did all the bolt on's you can. That way you can get the maximum affect from the tuning of the chip and mods?
