Question Anyone know a shop in the Sacramento area that can install headers?

I'm thinking about buying a set of Strup headers, but before I do, I'd like to find a shop that has experience working with G35s and 350Zs. I'm not mechanically inclined enough to install them myself, nor do I have the time or patience. They say that the installation of Strup headers are easier than most because they do not require you to lift the engine or drop the tranny. This of course would cut down on labor charges as well.

Anyone know of a shop that can install headers for a reasonable price?

Thanks.

M.S.Dynamics if you can wait to get scheduled in (their prices are fairly high I think) otherwise you'll have to go to the Bay to Scotts Perf. or Z Car Garage. I'm sure there are other local shops that I don't know of.

There's another shop in south Sac near the executive airport called Sacramento Motoring Accessories. They have a full shop there. If you don't buy from them though, the prices will likely skyrocket, so I'd recommend Z-Car garage probably.

scott performance is by far the best place to go. it is a 2 hour drive but it is completely worth it. he has built the fastest twin turbo z in the u.s. and is the most knowledgable guy you will find with g's and z's

Scott Performance in Santa Clara. That's where I got my headers installed. Was gonna go with ZCG but it was a little more expensive for the same amount of quality work. You can't go wrong with either of them though so its worth the trip! It was done in about 4 hours.... Other shops that weren't Z related were saying "no way" to a 4 hour job and were quoting me 8+ Hours of labor.

I checked out motorsport dynamics today, they quoted me $360 for a 4.8 hours of labor. labor rate: $75/hr

Why don't you try Midnight Performance. Haggle Warren, and you'll definitely get it cheaper than Motodyn. They have a full shop there as well, and dyno. Guy is competent enough to install headers. I've seen a couple successful TT VQ's out of the shop, although I think the main focus is towards honda's. Let me know if you need directions.

i wouldn't trust my Z with most speed shops in sacramento. I think it's best if you listen to some of the other members and take it to a reputable place in the bay.

Guys this is just headers. Any of the shops that have delt with the install in the past can do it. As long as they have done oen and know what their getting into. 4.5 hours is a good rate. Its a hell of a job. Ive done four now and wouldnt touch it for less then 400.00

i would be more interested in a reputable tuner because i do most of my own installs. so if anyone knows of a specific tuner for z's in this or surrounding areas that would be cool.

i would agree with you that most shops should be able to handle bolt-ons.

any yes, the headers a pia!
