My sales guy at Broadway Nissan in Redwood city was pretty cool but their service department needs some improvement and customer service training.....

If you're around south bay, goto Capitol Nissan to get your Z service. Ask for Andrew McDonald, Service Director. Great guy!!

The Redwood City dealership is closest to me. How bad was the Service Department to deal with?

My sales guy at Falore Nissan in Sunnvale was great. Ask for Glen Bell. Their service department was good too. But I've only been in for service once.

Sales guy in Berkeley were great. Names are Tony and John. No hassles, very friendly and even allow me to wash my car using their supplies on the weekends! Jury is still out on the service dept. though as I've had spotty service thus far but my contact with them has been limited.

when I first bought my car, the tire pressure light wouldn't go away, so my sales guy just told me drop by the service dept and they'll take care of it. So I told the sale's guy to setup a day and I'll take half day off to go there. Once I got there the service dept wouldn't work on my car saying that they don't have time. I went to talk to my sales guy and he convinced the service manager to take a look at my car. They did fix it that day, but they also minor scratched my wheel lug nut areas on all 4 wheels and about 3-4 lug nut area on each wheel. Not to mention that the service manager also made a big deal regarding him taking the time to look at my car.

2nd story, they still have my Bose fix and a center console lid on order.... still haven't heard from them. It was ordered back in November.... I called back a few time to check on status, I even went in to check on the status. According to him, it's still on back order.

3rd story, I stopped by the dealership to pick up the car cover I order, so I stop by the service center to ask if I can schedule some time to have him check out a rattle I'm hearing in the car. He told me that I bought a Nissan, not a BMW, not a Mercedes. I should be expecting the car to rattle. So they can't spend anytime looking into rattles.

After that experience, I decided to looked else where to get my car serviced. I just don't trust my car with someone that have such little regards for the cars they service.

If you don't mind the drive, goto Capitol Nissan.... the service there is night and day compare to Broadway. Have nothing but good thing to say about them. Prompt and curteous service.
my 2 cent...

I used a car broker for my last two purchases including the Z.
I'll never buy a car any other way.

If interested call Karen Clay at 1-530-885-7077. She is in Auburn but has contacts all over Cali. I live in Sacto area and my Highlander came from San Jose & the Z from Visalia.

Dealer pays her fee; not you.

Tell her Dennis suggested her.

(No compensation to me. I just detest car dealers & really like Karen. She does great job.)

Whatever,

Thanks for the heads up on Broadway Nissan in Redwood City. From your descriptions I would not want them to work on my car either. Capial Nissan is a bit out of my way - but that just means I get to drive the Z a bit more.

Thanks for the replies guys!! I'm actually gonna take your guy's advice on these dealers and try to hunt me down a pikes peak white model this weekend....wish me luck.

BTW, if any of you want to stop by the shop feel free to do so...you are all welcome. We dont have anything in stock yet for the Z other than injen intakes and TE37's....but coming monday we will be getting some nismo parts. And These upcoming months should bring in some very nice japanese parts from P.E. and the like.

Thanks
Mike

Just noticed that you are in the East Bay. The folks at Hayward Nissan seemed better informed on the Z and said they were willing to sell at MSRP. This was during the pre order days when all the West Bay dealers were charging $3-5K above.

Default Bay Area Dealers

I am VERY impressed with San Rafael Nissan, as I am with North Bay Nissan in Petaluma (both with good inventory).

The sales manager at Dirito Brothers in Walnut Creek said that they actually allow unaccompanied test drives, which certainly would make me suspicious about any car bought from them.

Thanks for the info again guys. I've been shopping all week long and have had no luck at all in finding and purchasing a base model. I actually drove about 100 miles just to get a ppw base, but the dealer failed to tell me that the car had 337 miles on it...doh!! Oh well, guess i'll have to place an order

Thanks
mike

gruppe....

Have you checked the Nissan website for dealer inventories at all dealers in NorCal? Last week I looked thru for the heck of it & saw a base at one of the Sacramento dealers.

I'm glad you had a good experience there. When I was pre-ordering, the first dealer I made an appointment at was Falore. First, they made me wait 1/2 hour before the sales dude was ready to talk (this was after work when I was the only customer in the place). They then tried to charge $3000 over MSRP, and when I offered about $1000 over, they said no deal. I decided then that I would never recommend those scumsuckers again. They kept trying to tell me that I was getting the last pre-order at $3000 and they were about to jack the price to $6000. They also said that every other dealer was charging $10K over and that I would be lucky to get one at 3K or even 6K. I talked to the sales manager and he gave me the same song and dance as well. I told them to F'off, thanked them for wasting my time, and ended up going to Freeman Nissan in Santa Rosa. They were much better and confirmed MSRP over the phone. I then went in and ordered without any extra charges, prep fees, or anything like that. They were a really nice change from Falore. I would stay away from Falore unless you have an inside source there.

I had a bad experience with Falore too, just last week. Giving me the run around, saying they had the car but really not. Saying they'd give me msrp but really not Oh well, live and learn.
On a better note, Santa Rosa has the Z i'm looking for so I wont have to drive all the way to Imperial anymore. I'm picking up the car tommorow!!!! Hope to see you guys around.

Thanks
Mike

Congrats, Mike. Glad you found one closer. Model & Color?

As an aside, "rat" is fine.
