Default Infineon Kart Day

I'm really sorry you guys didn't make it to this. It was a fun event especially for those that drove in it. We should get a group together and go do it again this spring.

Here's some hightlights -

It was a blast !!!

The old man(Walt) seemed to have some traction problems.

If I recall Walt said it was by invite only by Infineon and not a general public thing.

I haven't talked to you for a awhile and it wasn't actually my place to invite. I didn't think since it was a charity event, that Walt was involved in that I should do the inviting online. I think that anyone that wanted to donate could have come. The donation was $325 for local charities.

So, I just figured it as a fact finding mission for the local BA club and put out this thread for those that might be interested in the future.

Great to have a kid with a sense of humor.

As AJ said it was a charity thing and I didn't think anyone wanted to shell out that kind of money....even though it was worth a whole day of driving. I had posted something about it in the OT section. I am pretty sore today, I have never even sat in one of these things, but ended up 21 out of 45. Not bad for an old guy with no exerience in a Kart. 80mph+ a couple of inches off the ground is a blast! This karts are pretty "twitchy", so it took the third session until I started to get on to it. The two sessions in the morning had water on the course, so spin outs where pretty common for everyone. Absoulutly no warning when they let go.

I think we could have an event there for less money, since this was a charity thing with 3 NHRA world record holders. ( I can write off some of it). They were great guys! I let them know I could smoke them in bracket racing.

The pic woth me and guy standing there is of another hot dog drag racier and I can't rmember his name.

I was in three cars 43,45 and 49

It was only offered to what they call "the Infineon Insiders" which is just a group of people who have done major events there in the past. ie: Russell Racing School events. They didn't want more than 50 people and were hoping for 45. They actually cut it off at 45. I thought I was early, but I was #41 even though I responded a day after I got the email notice.

I had mentioned in the other thread that it was free to spectators.

Because you can only drive in a straight line. Mark Avila (green Tercel) was there as a spectator and to have some memorabilia signed by the NHRA guys. He had done the same event a year ago, so they sent him an invitation. I told him he has quite a reputaion on this board.

That's what a few of the guys said. They had two places where you could hit 80 or so. At the end of the day they were sliding in a predictable way.

BMW had some kind of meet at the same time so that is where my son's other pictures came form. He took a pick of a stock Z with a Road and Track sticker on it if anyone is enterested.

You would like to spank her Lou.
