Default taillight tinting

KarToyz wants to charge $350 for this. I found a place for only $100 with no core exchange.

Anyone interested in this? we can do a gb to bring the cost down.

you don't have to tint that dark.

GB to bring down the cost only. He will send you the tint light, you send back your core so the next one can have it.

Just FYI...painted taillights like these scratch very easily so make sure you put some kind of protectant film on top of it like clearbra. I know several people that have done this sort of tint & a lot of them wished they had done so when they first got them.

How's the tint done? Is it actually a tint overlay, or is a spray/oven treatment? (I have a leased car and need to return it to OE in 2 yrs)

thanks bubble!

good info there James. The overlay from Bat look so dull.

they sand down your hightlight and paint it, clear coat and wax it.

I sprayed mine myself:

Like $8 for a can of Nite Shades at local parts store. Clay bar, clearcoat, wax and your done. All for under $15.

These have automotive clearcoat on them... any scratches can be polished out, just like your OEM paint.

Yep, that is no secret. i have seen plenty of horror stories of this going wrong (speaking of DIYers)
