I'm in Santa Maria, others are in Arroy Grande and San Luis Obispo. San Luis Obispo would make for a good stop. Their is the Modonna Inn right off the Modonna exit off 101. Eazy 101 access, big parking lot and the most hilarous bath room you have ever seen.

Ok, but if you're not actually leaving from San Jose then you shouldn't be on the Norcal list even if you may be coming back with us.

Is it supposed to be

Madonna Inn
100 Madonna Rd
San Luis Obispo, CA

If so, that sounds fine to me since it's pretty much where we need to switch over to the 1 anyways.

Yeah that's the place. About what time do you think you guys would be there?

I'd say it should be around 12:00 or 12:30PM depending on the driving conditions and if we make any quick stops. It should take about 3 hours, and I think we're going to depart from the Starbucks in Woodland Hills at about 9:00AM.

Sounds good, I'll start spreading the word up here.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks zwindsor. You should also start looking for where to meet up in norcal before driving down to Hearst Castle. Once you pick a meeting spot from which to start off from, you'll get more people to commit.

Added one more G:

01. zwindsor
02. HyperSprite
03. fowlman01
04. GTNPU Z (Tentative - Will know for sure by the end of the month)
05. dklau33 (G35, tentative for now but want to make it for sure)

I think we'll follow HyperSprite's suggestion and all meet up in San Jose.

Leave time of 8:15am (try and show up by 7:45am)
From the Startbucks at 125 Bernal Rd., San Jose, CA 95119

It's where the 85 and 101 come back together just before leaving the Valley. There is a Shell Gas in the same parking lot, so we can fill up as we arrive and make a clean exit. There is plenty of open parking so we can avoid door dings. I can lead us out of the lot and back on to 101 (trust me, my way is more fun than getting on where you got off).

Maybe I should just drive up there the day before just so they can have a bigger group driving down.

We're trying I have no idea where all the regulars are. I think Tony embarrassed them too much last time on the tour

I don't want to lead down 1 because I will have my wife with me and that may curtail my enthusiastic driving style, if you know what I mean.

From a NorCal perspective, this meet looks like it is in trouble. Figuring that only 50% of people who say they are going actually will, it's looking pretty sad. What can be done? How do we build the list back up?

Chris
Chris, I donno if I was really clear with my last response since I didn't read your post carefully. But basically what you suggested is fine. If you can get the logistics down (meeting time, place, route, etc.), that would be great. We just need someone to coordinate all of that information. It would be best if it were a local, otherwise I would help you out on that front (I don't know that area at all). One person to take care of all that is best to avoid confusion, and since you proposed a meeting time/place, I thought it would be best if you can take charge.

BTW, we are planning to get to Hearst Castle at about 1:00 to 1:30ish. Again, this all will depend on the traffic and other factors. So you can plan your meet time accordingly!

Also, you don't necessarily have to be in front of the pack either. I meant lead as in organize. I'm actually going to be the last car taking the tail end for the socal caravan.

One last thing, Chris. Maybe you can PM me your number or something. That way we can finalize everything, and I'll start a new OFFICIAL thread for both Socal and Norcal with all the finalized info.
