My Canon 30D is here!!
Man, I only wish I could justify spending the dough for the 30D.
I think I'll have to be happy with the Sony DSC-H5 when it comes out.
I played with a Sony DSC-H1 and I know its not in the same league however, for my needs I think the Sony DSC-H5 would fit the bill @ $500.
The DSC-H1 for $349 would probably fit my bill if I didn't plan on doing some poster work for you guys at meets. I got some good picture out of that camera. It was good under flash, good for close work. Nice on telephoto work.
However, I took it back cause I just want at least 7MP instead of the 5MP that DSC-H1 give you. I think for the weekend photographer / couple the DSC-H1 might fit the bill at a cheap price. For $150 more the Sony DSC-H5 should be that much nicer with Carl Zeiss len and 7MP. I like the quick focus. I also like the fact that I don't have to change the len for telephoto shots of things way out there.
However, if I was rich and didn't want things like rims, tires, sways and have a long list of maintenance that I need to do on my car, boat, rv etc...
I would love to have the 30D.
Just thought I would add my .02 well ... maybe my $1.02 to the topic.
Here's to you guys getting those super shots !!! Go Moodie !!!

^ The megapixelage is really not an issue at this point in the digital camera life-cycle. Most camera's have plenty-nice CCD or CMOS chips. The real issue is the ability to swap out lenses rather than being restricted by the one that comes on point and shoot models.

Jase,
That's because Nikon is the bomb. They're good cameras. In fact, one of my cousin uses it..................he's a retard. Also, one of my Auntie uses it...............she's a moron.

Congrats!!! I got the 5D and love it. I only have 3 lenses myself and can't wait to build my collection. You will love the ultra low noise you get from ISO 1600. The photo is 100% usable! Even at ISO3200, there is no other camera that can touch this!
Did you get the 17-85 or the 18-55 kit lens? Or did you go out to get a faster prime or zoom L lens?
