You should enjoy your car (legally) by joining us doing these things:
1. Drags at Sears or Sac (about every other month, some members go more often)
2. Autox (I do this once a month competitively)
3. HPDE (roadcourses) - about once per month depending on the season

Cruising around on the street and embarassing other makes/models/drivers can be cool, as I enjoy this also, but Arnold has the power to take your car away and either sell it or crush it. It seems risky to make a "club" to do this on a routine basis...

Well I made a suggestion and you didn't take on it.

Cruise by the Starbucks at Lawrence and El Camino any Sunday night after 8pm. There is always a meet there, and often we cruise there to join as well.

If you want to feel the real rush of speed, join us at Buttonwillow Raceway Thanksgiving weekend. You need two things - a helmet and desire. You have two months to save up the money (~200/day, and we'll probably drive both days).

Keep a look-out in this forum for Z-meets (Red Robin, Treasure Island, etc., are a few that are coming up).

What kinds of cars are you "racing"? The 350Z rocks from the factory, but if you start looking for the real night racing scene, a bolt-on 350 will get smoked by most cars out there.

How gay is this that your actually asking people to join you in an illegal act! lol take it from me bro, being heavily into the NY/ NJ streetracing scene a few years ago, and getting locked up doing it, keep your **** legal man! Its not even worth it to risk having an arrest on your record for some shiz like that! The z is not even really designed to be a 1/4 mile blaster, I dont understand why most on this board build thier cars to do that anyways!! Enjoy the car, keep it on the track and be safe player! Cali must really suck for you guys out there!

Default Do it at your own risk...

I'd say keep it legal as well...ESPECIALLY since you live in Cali. I use to do it when I was younger but now it's just now worth all this crap. Also, what it fails to say on this article is that the state actually takes your car away for good & perhaps auctions it off while you'll still be making payments on the car. If you think it's worth it...it's your car.

This came out a couple of days ago...

New Law Cracks Down On California Street Racing

(AP) SACRAMENTO Drivers who illegally race cars on California's roads could face jail time and fines under a new law signed Saturday by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"Those who race their cars at high speeds on California streets and highways endanger the lives of innocent people as well as themselves," the Republican governor said in a statement.

The bill by Assemblyman John Benoit, R-Palm Desert, seeks to target the growing popularity of illegal street racing, featured in this year's Hollywood film, "The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift."

Supporters of the bill say illegal street racing kills or injures hundreds of people each year. The Department of Motor Vehicles reported that 7,640 drivers were convicted last year for engaging in motor vehicle speed contests, a 9 percent increase from the year before, according to Benoit.

Under the new law, prosecutors can seek increased penalties against drivers who engage in reckless driving or speed contests that injure another person. Drivers could be charged with a felony, sentenced up to 6 months in state prison and fined up to $1,000 -- a much stiffer penalty than the old misdemeanor law.

In another driving-related measure, Schwarzenegger also signed a law that would allow car owners who have lost their keys to get replacements from a registered locksmith.

The bill by Sen. Carole Midgen, D-San Francisco, will require dealerships to give car owners the information they might need to get a copy of their key. Registered locksmiths would be allowed to obtain the information from auto manufacturers through a secure system.

The law will apply to 2008 vehicle models.
BTW...who else thinks that having a locksmith obtain copies of our keys maybe a bad idea. I think it may just add yet another resource for organized car thieves.

I don't have any money...but I do have a pink slip to my car... If you win, you take my car clean and clear. If I win....... I take your money, AND I take your respect.

You almost had ME? You NEVER had me. You NEVER had your car.

Ask any racer...any real racer. It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...winning's winning.
