I want an engine builder in the bay!!
Okay all you guys and gals.
I am seriously looking for a place to take my VQ apart and poke holes in it.
I am considering going the NA route providing I can find a great shop that does great work near by.
Money isn't really a bit deal, so tell me who's who and how to find them please.
Thanks in advance

He really doesn't have experience with the VQ as of yet, I don't believe. But he has been a Datsun/Nissan Z/ZX only specialist for over 20 years. I know him very, very well and in fact my 240Z was the very first Z he ever laid his hands on a long, long, long time ago. His 1970 240Z has an L28 motor bored and stroked to, I think, 3.1 liters. It is naturally aspirated and puts out 300 HP.
His hands were in every square inch of that motor and the entire car for that matter. Of coarse machining was done outside, to his specs.
But you gotta figure that no one around here really knows the VQ so well, yet. He and his crew are very exited about the 350Z and yours would be in very good hands with them I assure you.
You say money is no object? That's good because they are not a cheap shop. They do top quality work and have won awards for restorations they have done.
Of coarse I highly reccommend you call Scott Performance in Santa Clara. They are at 2555 Lafayette close to Martin.
Call them at 408-988-2233. Ask for Greg or Raub (pronounced Rob). Tell them Mike Brown refered you.
Good luck!!

thank you!! I am looking for that kinda top grade person. I know the VQ is not like a chevy 350... few people are really good at it.
I'll give them a call in the morning.
Thanks

Rebello is an engine shop in Concord. They are well known in the racing community for building race engines. My experience has been with Nissan L18 engines but it would probably be worth a call to them. 1-925-674-0130
THanks so far guys.....
Yes, I am considering going with an NA set up providing and can get some skilled hands on the engine. It'll cost me twice what the Turbo set up would, but man 300++ hp totally liner to the wheels would really make this can feel diffrent
Keep them coming, I am a picky *** hole (some of you already know me) so I'll give all these guys a call.
Thanks again
