To all of those that live north of Marin county don't take your car to Freeman Nissan in Santa Rosa for repairs. These guys don't know what they are doing.
1. Last month took my car in to have the grease streaks fixed by replacing the regulators (their fix idea). Parts come in, car goes in. They decide to call the Tech Center prior to doing the fix and where told not to do it...wouldn't solve the problem. Whole day of inconvience. They couldn't tell me why they didn't check before ordering the parts and wasting my time.
2. Took car in again Wednesday to have a valve cover gasket replaced. Appointment made 5 days in advance. They didn't start working on it until late Thursday. Told by the Service Mgr. car would be ready Friday. Very busy yesterday so expected them to call me. Got home last night only to find a message that they f**ked up and pinched the new gasket. It still leaks TOTAL INCOMPETANCE!! New one on order. NO car until somtime next week.
Freeman ordered the new windows parts per the TSB but I have since called NorthBay Nissan in Petaluma and am arranging for them to do this repair. I don't want Freeman touching my car again. Unfortunately NorthBay is a 30 mile drive one way and I'll have to wait for as long as it takes to fix it or spend $50 for a rental and do a bunch of double driving.

Just a warning. Take your chances.

Now you have me worried. I was at Freeman last week talking to the asst. Service manager about my first service. In addition to the oil change, I asked about the condensation in the headlight housing problem, which I am having. He had no reports on that problem, but would check into it. I told him that I wanted both housing swapped out with new ones, and have them there before my car comes in. I'm waiting to hear. Also at issue is my rear defrost( works, but extremely slow), adjust emergency brake and little things like the compartment hatches don't open very well.
I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Lenny,
They'll probably do ok for small fix-its like you're having done. They did my first service and the Bose amp swap and didn't screw up.
To finish my story, I ended up having the car towed down to Petaluma on Monday morning and had NorthBay redo the complete gasket replacement and window fix. Got my car back yesterday from Northbay. Basically it took them only 2 days to get all the parts and get it fixed. Very good people. They gave me a free loaner too (so did Freeman but only because they screwed up).
We should get together sometime. You up for a ride along the coast?
