1 reason is so the stoplight cameras can catch the license plate for whoever that was speeding or running a redlight "picture taken from the front." i dont know if this is fact but non the less... the plates on the bumper is butt ugly and sick of having to watch my back for popo's that wanna site me cuz they have nothing better to do.

If the police are looking for a car just reported in a bank robbery ,a silver 4 door with the plate TRG-46J it's alot easier to read the plate off a car comming towards you than look in your rear view mirror for it. And they can just glance at every plate that goes by for the first 3 letters with little effort.

I have no issues with it, sure the car looks better without a front plate, but untill the police had a bar-code reading system in the cars I am happy to have the front plates.

 

There is seriously no point to these petition things online. Whoever started that site is a smart person, man they must have so much traffic!

Personally, I just keep my DMV registration sticker in the front window from when you get new license plates/buy a new car. It hasn't failed me for the last 3 years

If you think about it, the only time a cop will see if you have a front plate or not is if they are coming against you in traffic from the opposite direction. They see no front plate, but the sticker in the window and usually assume its a-ok. I doubt they would turn their head and see that you have a rear plate but no front plate

Maybe a cop sitting on the side and you pass him would notice, but I highly doubt it. They are eyeing your car way too much if they caught the trick.
