Default Question regarding powder coating rims

I am wondering if any of you guys know of a good place that could do some powder coating for me. I have a 2002 chevy z71 that I want to powder coat the wheels on but do not know where to go in the bay area to get that job accomplished.

Any information will be helpful... Thanks fella's!

Best is questionable. I use an industrial powdercoater who coats for big companies.

Well that I don't disclose. I run a business so I keep all my vendors confidential. Sorry bro! If you can find out prices from other people, I will be able to tell you if its a good deal or not

so you won't tell us how much? or you won't tell us where should get the rims powdercoated?

I heard powdercoating can add a few pounds to a wheel, is that true?
I have been quoted $400 for all 4 wheels, dismounted, remounted, and rebalanced from a place in san diego, but I am in the bay area too.

how much is wheel techniques asking?

$100 a wheel seems to be the average going price but it does sound a bit expensive. The place where I send my equipment to get coated won't dismount and remount so they have to be removed ahead of time.

IMO $100/wheel is a bit high. $50-75 is a little better if you can find it.

I wish I could just offer my services to you guys but I am in the process of setting up shop hopefully in Mountain View but it's still a few months out.

PC'ing adds less than a pound per wheel - I have powder, and a pound goes quite a long way. $100/wheel, including dismount, remount, and rebalance is very fair. Wheeltech is about $125/wheel for their basic PC. What they don't tell you, however, is that "sometimes" a flaw in the TIRE will come out after dismount and remount. For example, if you had hit a pothole and damaged the belts, it may not show until you de-air and re-air. I'd wait until you need tires to PC given this case.
