Default karting question, fogging of helmet

Hey guys, i've got a quick question regarding the visor of the helmet fogging up and thus not being able to see.

Well, with my few experiences karting, i've only had this problem once, and it's frustrating me to no end. Karting at le mans in fremont has been fine, no fogging whatsoever and able to hit low 20's, expecting high 19's next time i go. However, my last trip was to gokartracer for the first time and my helmet fogged up badly after only a few laps. Consequently, I really had no idea where to brake, turn in... the whole shebang. Got stuck with a low 31 as best lap on the monza track... so frustrating. Does anyone else here have that problem? and if so, is there a way to stop it from happening?

The thing I really don't understand is why it's never happened to me at le mans (3 trips) but happened my first time at gokartracer. So just trying to get a good discussion going, and please feel free to share times, tips, and whatnot. It'd be great to hear strategy from some experienced karters out there.

ChiShi

I don't race but I think this might help. Have you tried anti fogging spray that divers use for scuba masks? I have fogging issues when I dive and the spray helps alot.

Go to Cycle Gear in Hayward off of Mission Blvd, they have anti fog stuff for helmets. Will, Josh, Iggy, Jun, anyone of those guys can help you out...

Another trick is wiping glycerine dish soap on the inside of the visor. If you're stuck with a rental helmet just crack the visor to get some air in there.

ChiShi, I heard GoKartRacer was changing their karts, did they get rid of the seatbelt adjusters that scratch the back of your helmet?

On the one click thing, last time I was at Le Mans, when I got into it with the other kart and fractured my rib. I had my visor up one click. Well that little tussle caused it to open up fully. While I don't know if it is anything to worry about on karts (unlike an auto with glass and metal bits flying), I never thought I was gonna fracture a rib either, so I'll probably be getting some anti fog before I go to this Sundays heats.
