Default I Need A Group Hug

So I was at work today, and apparently someone in my building does not like other people to have a nice car.

Came out for lunch and noticed my car had a 19" key mark (URL embedded to linked pictures on) on it... dug down to either the primer or the metal (hard to tell looks whitish but I don't know wtf is up with paint now a days).

Suggestions on how to fix it? Cost of taking it somewhere to fix it? Suggestions on where to take it? I have a $500 deduct with my insurance so it more than likely won't even come close to that (I hope not, because I do not want to pay $500)...

I was thinking rubbing compound and maybe that blue paint pen that nissan sells, and buff that out? or would that look like total un-adulterated ***?

Location : San Mateo

Not that this is true in your situation, but I find that most people don't get their car keyed unless they deserve it for some reason.

The only persons that deserve to get their car keyed are those who keyed cars. It is such a low life thing to do. Car keyers have serious mental problems.

yeah, I told employer and property management, and property security.

Someone doesn't like me, it defiantly was a targeted keying. I park in a more remote location of our parking structure because I don't want anyone to ding or hit my car, and so I can take two spaces, since we have walls every two, so I can get out with those massive doors. I am probably on average always 10+ spaces away from the closet car because of how far out of the way I go to avoid bothering other people with my parking habits. It is such a low life thing to do, how chicken**** does someone have to be they can't leave a note or something if they have a problem or find you.

You can see rub marks from the person's hand as they were putting weight into it to dig it in.

that sucks man i hate people who key cars.

if you park 10+ spaces away from everyone else, why take up 2 spaces. Someone probably sees that u think ur hot **** and should take 2 spaces. I know for a fact, people around here hate that. And some people will be stupid enough to actually key a car for that.

Good luck getting it fixed.

If you can catch your fingernail in it, it's going to need to be repainted. I had my door keys when I first got my car and it cost me around $585.00 to fix. Sorry about the damage. I know how you must feel.

it depends on how close u park or the area. If its a busy parkign garage and your taking up 2 spots then i say off with there head! But, if you in a parking lot with a million spots then who gives a fk where u park? Some parking lots have NO room between the spots and its like playing russian roulette concerning your car getting dinged. at my work, the spaces are terrible so i park far and take 2 spaces. If someone doesnt like it, fk off because im sick of getting dings.

it isn't a busy parking garage,

and that is why I park so far away to a make sure I don't bother anyone. The spots are narrow and on each side of every two spots is a cement wall, that makes it impossible to get out of our cars with the long doors. (Esp if your a fat *** :-/ )

Seriously... I dunno, I wish I knew, cuz I would go back and do her again, but this time with a hole in the condom.

on a side note it is hard to tell because the entrance to our office campus is like road rage marathon almost every morning... so this was defiantly revenge probably for some morning... Irony is today the day it happened it was a quiet morning... so this is a damn dish of cold revenge...

Do they make a carbon fiber hatch lid?

Damn body shop quoted me $1100 because of where it is they have to blend the different panels and take all the glass and lights out GGRRR!!!

it hurts seeing those pics especially on a DB... butttt... even when i drive my f150 supercrew i make sure i am within the two white lines on either side.

taking two spots is like putting a target on your car, saying "key me", especially with the DB that stands out...
best of luck on getting that fixed!

How about fixing it like this?

http://www.raceinspired.com/ps-1652-...z-2002-up.aspx

anyone have experience with how hard it is to switch trunk lids?
Along with having someone switch in the glass???

Estimated installation cost anyone?

Think it is a good idea? Maybe get the matching hood then to?

I think I am going to go this route then this avoids having to have repainting and blending and **** done. Just get the glass popped out, and get the electronics and panels moved over.

I called Z Car garage and they said probably a 3 hour job, but recommended I take it to his body guy, who surprisingly (a nice surprise for once today) is up here in San Mateo :-D ).
