About half the stores in the US are closing. You can check the locations on this web page. If your location is still listed, it will not be closing. If it is not listed, the store is closing within 90 days.

The store in SJ is closing.

Lol CompUSA gets no sympathy from me, used to work there and the manager there used to threaten to write me up because I wouldn't drag customers to the manager so he could sell them extended warranties after I already asked them and they didn't want it. I was written up and made Employee of the Month at the same time because some customer wrote a letter of appreciation to the store regarding me and yet I failed to sell enough AOL subscriptions. @$$holes!

Post remaining stores and deals

You can see a list of the remaining (non-closing) stores at http://www.compusa.com/locations/store.asp. It's interesting that this # varies. It was at 100 when the closures were first announced, now it's at 103.

As I posted in another forum earlier, the deals may not be that great.

"I went to a CompUSA that closed in Santa Clara and even a few weeks into it, the deals after the discounts weren't very good. The percentages off don't get good until the stores are nearly picked clean and only have useless crap that nobody wants like outdated and overpriced MP3 players, overpriced flash media and random stuff like satellite radio FM transmitters.
