I was also looking at the Mac Air but Im just not ready to transition over to that OS - My sister has a Mac (non-pro), she likes it... Size and weight of the Mac Air are very appealing though...

Ill be placing the order tomorrow so I can get it in soon...

Any feedback on the Dell would be great...
Never owned a Dell, Sony VAIO only. Just be sure you have min 1GB RAM set aside for Vista, being it's a resource hog to say the least. Read many blogs on Vista and min recom is 2GB for smooth overall performance. Just got wife recently a Sony FZ w/2GB, Core2Duo, blah blah and performs very well running with Vista.

Haven't heard from my Cusco guy. Sending EM again, might be hitting u up with your guy Andy for price, then move forward with what we talked about last week.

Here is quick rundown of the setup I got this morning...
  • XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB 4MB Cache)
  • Midnight Blue Casing With Microsatin Finish XPS M1530
  • 4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm, for XPS M1530
  • 15.4 inch Wide Screen WSXGA+ TrueLife for XPS M1530
  • 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
  • 200G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive Free Fall Sensor
  • Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card
I could not justify getting the 64GB Solid State Drive - $650 is just way too much...

Anyway, there are a few other things that came with it... Warranty for 3 years and so on... Im happy with my purchase...

Now its time to do the waiting game ...

What OS did you get? XP or Vista?
IMO, 4GB RAM is overkill unless you orderred the notebook with a Vista 64-bit.
Rip off!! >> 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms) [add $200 or $6/month1]

You missed last December deal:- $799 off

You can save more money if do these:
- Return the 3 years warranty and just keep 1 year instead
- Return the 4GB RAM. Tell the Dell CSR that you have a spare 2GB RAM from previous notebook.

You could save >$500 more by returning those items!!

Then just order the 4GB RAM off this website for only < $80 shipped
