Dumb idea, one of the worst lately.
Just buy a CF hood.

isn't the stock hood lighter than any of the cf hoods available? other than for aesthetics, i see no purpose in this. i guess unless you're really into the look and this is cost effective.

If you do not have any constructive criticism to say, please do not post in this thread. I was meerly asking for place where it can be done, not for opinion. Thank you..

Would probably be just as cheap to buy a Seibon OEM CF hood. OEM and Seibon are pretty close as far as weight. Only one that I have personally used that is lighter is my CWest CF hood.

The reason why i wanted to see whether this is possible because i purchased a TS hood from Seibon, but unfortunately the hood did not clear my plenum. Rather than cutting the underside of the CF hood, i think wrapping my stock hood with CF is my next option.

They are just trying to give you some heads up before you make a big mistake. If you actually did the obsurd idea, you'd get much ridicule from people that know its not real carbon fiber

Just seems like spending a lot for a hood that will now weigh more than stock.

I don't quite think its rediculous. Remember, Seibon hood has a fiber glass base with CF overlay over it. This concept is basically the same except its over an aluminum base. Majority of the carbon fiber hoods have fiber glass base except the more expensive full dry carbon fiber hoods linke Cwest, INgs, Top Secret, and Asuka.
