I just curbed the **** out of one of my new rims... I am going to cry... I feel sick
! I guess it's not _that_ bad, but I am pi$$ed at myself...
EDIT - UPDATED WITH PICS...
It's an AME Circular Spec-R with a rolled barrel. I think it's polished with clear-coat.
can I get it fixed? I'll take pics when it's light out...
Any experience with these shops? - I found them in the shop listing
Wheels Repair
1. Wheel Techniques (Santa Clara) - 408-866-5859 (Jeff) (They also do powder coated)
2. Wheels America (Union City) - 510.441.2199
3. Rite-Way Wire & Wheel (Walnut Creek) 925-933-4046 (Jose Cruz)
I am in Mountain view so I'd prefer to use wheel techniques in Santa Clara. Anyone have good/bad experience with them?

I'll take my car down today for an estimate. They'll prolly laugh at me and tell me to put some more scuffs in it before I worry about repair.
One guy's "oh, you can see it from a mile" is another guy's "So, where is the scratch?"
SUX... I don't think I have EVER curbed a rim before. I never curbed the CRX with the +2 16" rims, or the M3 or the 06z and that's going back to 1995!
Of course as soon as I get some sick new rims I go out and curb them.
sorry to hear. I had my wheels repair and repolish at Wheel Techniques. They did a great job repairing the rims, but not so much on repolishing it. For 3 wheels I paid close to $750, and my wheels wasn't that bad at all . Very minor curb. I suggest bringing your wheels somewhere else other than them, unless you want to pay a sh*t load of money for and OK job. I was refer to another place that I was told that do great job and cheap. I have the card in my car. Ill update you with the info once I get home.

I took my curbed, chunk of metal missing rim to Rite-Way Wire and Wheel last week in Walnut Creek. Dropped off wheel at 3 in the afternoon, and had it back the next day good as new. Cost $125 out the door! Takes cash or check only. Pretty small shop, but I received great service from the owner Jose Cruz..FYI

Posted these in the W&T forum too, but You guys might want to see the carnage:
I was pissed at myself cause I was pulling in and heard a scrape and thought I was scraping the back wheel, so I turned the front wheel to back up...
I was wrong and it was my front wheel. The worst bit of damage is from turning my front wheel into the curb and backing up.

When they are clean - before the curbing carnage (it's been raining for weeks here. No time to wash the car - working dawn till dark and then it rains on the weekends) My car has a date with a bucket and hose in the morning!

And the damage is not too bad, definitely would be back to 99% new condition once you repair it..
Nice tires, btw.

Yeah, I REALLY want PS2's. These are great in the rain and have a comfy ride and stick well in the corners, but I really don't like the soft sidewalls. I'll live with a harsher ride in favor of better steering response. Personal taste, I suppose.
But Then if I spend $1400 on new tires, that's almost the cost of the Nikon D300 camera I want!
I actually might DIY fix this damage. If I mess it up, I'll take it to wheel techniques. But I'll learn somehting - and I'll have to buy polishing tools (Darn! more tools
)
