Default Thinking of taking a job in NorCal...Advice?

Like the title states, Im thinking of moving to Watsonville, CA from Los Angeles, CA. I was wondering if someone could shed some light as to how the people, the cost of living, and especially the women are? Thanks.

Watsonville is crazy, its kind of a poor town, lot of Mexican women which I love I'm not sure about the cost of living it would be a tad bit cheaper than l.a but watsonville is over crowded I live about 20 min from there, but is your new job going to be in Watsonville?I would consider moving to Monterey much nicer or salinas?

I would be working at the Watsonville Airport. How far are those other cities you mentioned from Watsonville?

Yeah, I'd say that's a negative on living in watsonville. Monterey or any of the immediate surrounding areas are nice. NOT WATSONVILLE!!! Even Capitola or Santa Cruz are just like 15 minutes up hwy 1.

Not for helicopter mechanics, which is what I'd like to stick to. I have until monday to make my decision. The only thing that worries me, is the neighborhood. I don't want to be in an area that is going to make me even more paranoid than I already am. Mostly because that area will be completely new to me.

Exactly my thoughts.

Before I moved out of SoCal I spent a week up here. I grew up in the ghetto so any change for me was good .... I miss SoCal but the gang activity is nothing up here like it is down there. Up here its all about Norteno & Sureno bull crap. Im was used to East Side Versus West Side or one neighborhood verses another neighborhood. Avoid wearing any Dodgers gear or blue for that matter cause you will stir some stuff up. Where in L.A. are you coming from?

I'm in La Puente. Its about 5-10 mins. away from downtown L.A. I think I might make a trip up there just to see how the surrounding neighborhoods are. Also, I am a big dodger fan so that might be a problem for me.

Your going to be in the country compared to LA. if you can make that adjustment, go for it. Lots of decent towns around but definately small townville.

Personally, I'd trade LA for Watsonville area in a heaetbeat but I hate LA (to congested). Also, you will get GREAT deals on artichokes!! It is the capitol of artichocks!! LOL!

I've lived in both N.cal and S.cal and I have to say the quality of life is better in LA county. Puente is an okay town but there are cool places to hang out in the surrounding area. You should take your social life into consideration. If you're married, no worries but if you're single, it's going to be tough to find friends to hang out with or people you can trust unless you're hermit.

If you're still in school and plan to go to school up here, you'll find friends but if not, it'll be tough in the beginning for sure.

Everyone always talk about gangs. LA has it share and so does Orange County but it all depends on the area you live in. I mean look at Walnut. Thats like 15 minutes from Puente and there are hardly any gangs there. It's all about location.
