thats not bad. infineon is a very slow track for whatever reason, plus that atmospheric pressure is pretty low. There are a lot of guys out there that bring their n/a auto z's quite often and run a PB of 14.5. Do you know what kind of power you put down?

Did you lose to a white subaru by any chance?

there are 6MT's that turn that or slower. There was one there last night that was hitting 14.5 (6MT)

yeah, its weird to me how theyre THAT slow. I understand being a bad driver but after youve hit the track 50 times you ought to have it down a little better than that. Maybe the track is just not z friendly?

No white subaru. I ran this same guy in the practice runs and a pick-up my in my first practice. I don't recall seeing a white subaru. My 6MT makes 266rwhp and 250rwtq, so I did expect a little more. I felt a little hesitation in 3rd at WOT, so Rob is going to hook a WB up to make sure all is cool with the program.

Yeah I would expect you to be a little quicker, low 13's maybe. My car makes 253 whp/ 244 wtq and runs 13.5 pretty consistently. I have A LOT of practice with my car though and I make a lot of area under the curve in relation to my peak numbers. I bet you would get a bunch faster if you get more runs in. Some people say there is up to a second to pick up with experience, which obviously depends on how good you are to start with

Is he going to hook one up to you too??

naw! you have an excuse, you only had two practice runs. You should have better 60' though with DR's.

He always does!

Absolutely I should. I think I gave too much thought as to how to set the compression and rebound on the suspension, as it ended up not feeling very soft at all. Excuse time: with more practice runs, I could have dialed the suspension and tire pressure in a bit more. I should have been able to hit 1.8x 60's, if not better. Plus, if I wasn't granny-shiftin' like you said, there's likely more time there, too. I have an open track day at Thunderhill next Friday, and I would have been pissed if I broke something last night. MAYbe I can make it out 11/11, and this time I'll leave Palo Alto at NOON.

Thanks! The wheels really make the car. Was that you in the silver Z from Santa Rosa?
no I didn't race yesterday, just watched my friend race.

no I didn't take pictures, or bring my car out.

Yessir! And that car has a resonated test pipe! The wheels were from my 300zx, hence my SN.

If you're leaving from palo alto I suggest taking the bridge at hwy 92 or whatever it s and going 880 to 580 to 101 to 37. I leave from Santa Clara at 2:30 usually and am there by 3:45.

What size dr and what pressure were you running? Also the brand of dr is really important

My area under the curve is pretty good, and I think the learning curve is pretty steep:

Thanks for the tips, I'll do that next time (hopefully 11/11). It's the 16" Mickey Thompson ET Streets that I use on my Z32TT.

I don't have time to scan last nights, but this is pretty much what I turn with 19" street tires with virtually no side walls. 19X30X275
note the 60' Scott....hahahaha
Car #20....don't pay attention to the R/T especially the 2 minute one.

I'll try to have DR's on if you think you will be able to come 11/11.

Sadly, I didn't earn any smiley faces since I went against that guy, but I did get to .0x lights. That's got to count for something, no?

How about this 60' (same set wheels/tires as I ran last night, just a few more HP, car 108):

That is a good 60' even with DR's. I know you can do it and won't take too long. I'm not sure I would dick around with the suspension unless you had it set up for something that would really hinder the traction. With me it has just been getting used to the set up, but it has taken a ton of runs. Weds night confirmed that I have to launch pretty much from an idle or I will have terminal wheel spin. I also confirmed that it will run 13.2 WITH traction control on from an idle, in D time after time. It's and auto, but I still like to shift it myself.

Bottom line is that you will have it down after a few runs and it will be more a matter of you learning the car in a different way..........in the way you know your 300. I have been around all kinds of motorsports and I can tell that you could do very well with any car once you knew it.

Thanks, that sure is the hope! Historically, is it super busy on the last day of the year (11/11 this year)?

I don't remember it being busier than at any other time. You never know how many cars there might be.
