Default Looking for a Body Shop: Black Painted Roof and Hamburger Debadging?

Hi,

I'm now ready to have my roof painted (gloss black). I took out the "350Z" emblem and want to go all the way by removing the 'burger and having the holes filled, etc.

I don't know many body shops in the 650 area. I had a regular shop but the guy went out of business and am unsure about a lot of others.

Does anyone know a shop or can recommend one where I can get my roof painted and hatch debadged for a fair price?
*Preferably by a shop that has experience in painting a 350Z roof black in the past and any pics would be appreciated.

The shop I use is the same one Nissan uses and gives a lifetime warranty on the paint also. But it's south in Salinas. They do an excellent job. Got the referral from the MYMotors, which is a group of dealers, including Nissan where they take the cars for touch up, if any rock chips, dings etc on them, before they sell them. But Salinas is 67 miles south of San Jose right off of HWY 101.

If you hadn't seen my teaser pics, i had my car done at M&S Collision in Milpitas. They did excellent work, and highly recommended. Give them a call at 408-946-6626 and ask for Ray. Tell him that you're from my350z.com, and Vince with SS Z recommended you.

Thanks Changvi! Milpitas is a bit further than I'm used to but I'd be willing to drive it for better service/work! Thanks for recommendation. I just gave him a call and he seems like a pretty decent guy. Gave me a fair quote and I'll most likely do this after my brakes.

what did they quote you? i recently asked a shop about debadging the sides , front and rear and having the holes filled and body smoothed out but they quoted me at 1500. so just left it alone

$1500.00?! Yikes. I don't want to advertise any possible "hook-up" prices. But I can say that Ray is real easy to talk to and he quote he gave me for:
1) Clear coating my eyelids
2) Painting the roof gloss black
3) Debadging and spot painting the hatch

is but a fraction of $1500.00.

Thanks for the pic and info. I just called him and he gave me a quick quote but said it'd be better if I came by the shop. It's not too far from my job so I may stop by this week or so during my lunch break.

Thanks for the info. But I gotta say, "ouch!" I just called William as well. He wants a LOT more than the others for a debadge and to paint the roof.

The quotes I've been getting have a large variance. I'm talking $1300 difference between the least and most expensive. I'm not sure if its quality, materials, or what?!
Does anyone else know of a good quality and reliable shop that won't ask for my 1st born child to paint my roof and take off/patch the Nissan Burger?

Thanks in advance.

Had mine done complete with life time warranty on paint job for $3034.62. As mentioned above was done by same shop Nissan Motors uses and other car dealers use for touch up work on the their new cars. Will be at Black Hawk this Sat with mine, if you're there, if you want to see it. Black 2003 Track Model with CF TS Seibon Hood and CF NISMO Spoiler.

I understand, but William's is incredible. How does his quote compare to the $3k the other poster is talking about for the shop that Nissan uses? WAB does all the work for ZCG - I have had a lot of work done there as well with great success.

His [WAB] is much less than $3k for sure. And I am sure that you do, indeed, get what you pay for. I guess I just figured it to be a "minor" modification and would not cost as much as a big brake kit, coilovers, or a decent set of rubber. I don't know, call me a newb I guess...I've just been seeing so many Z/G's on the road with shaved trunks/hatches...figured it would be a relatively cheap mod. I guess there are just a lot of 'ballers out there, huh?

In light of these quotes, I may just hold of on doing this aesthetic mod until a much more opportune moment. I don't want a botched paint job and I can't really break that much bread for a black roof and a burgerless hatch...especially when my car is still, in my opinion, basically stock.

Thanks to all for the information and comments.

I was really contemplating that. I guess I'd really want to see one, installed, in person before I make that jump though.

Does vinyl shine up like paint?
