Default police/CHP/radar/camera sighting thread

Just starting another public service thread for the Norcal folks.

1. List your sighting of where you seen police/CHP are hiding.(Freeway/Local streets/etc.) I'm sure there are location of their favorite hiding places. Let's sniff them out!!
2. List location where you always get confirmed positive signals with your radar detectors. Band/laser/etc.
3. List location of confirmed cameras.
4. Anything else that might be of interest.

I'll start.

Agnew near by Lafeyette in Santa Clara. There is a 2-3 block 25 zone right by the Intel building. There is always a police siting in one of the driveways/parking lot waiting. The street goes from 35 to 25 back to 35 within a few blocks. It's fairly straight with couple of stop signs. Very easy to go over 25 and even 35. Not that I ever go pass the speed limit

Default another one

Lafayette near the 237 over pass in Santa Clara. Speed limit is 40 (iirc) It's the straightest couple miles you ever seen. Also the road for many late night street racing scenes. There is a BMX track right around there. There is always a cop sitting in the dirt drive way by the fences. There is a slight bend that prevent you from seeing the hiding area. I seen a lot of cars getting pull over around there. I of course go speed limit through there

Coming down on 101 North after exiting the GG Bridge and past the tunnel, down the hill passing through Sausalito, a CHP car usually hides in a little dip behind a guard rail.

is that police officer there for speed traps or perhaps there to protect the gg bridge from any terrorist attack. i've seen them hiding there, too, but just figured that they were there for bridge security.

This is for speed traps, because the location is about four or so miles after the bridge on the downward incline after the tunnel. They catch the guys (gals) that are speeding down the incline, which in actuality does not take much due to gravity, etc.

The CHP officer is not difficult to see if you are looking towards the right. I have seen them ZIP right out of that spot with the lights on... gives me that uneasy feeling whenever I see those lights in pursuit...

There's always one on San Tomas right by the Central Expressway bridge on either side. There's also CHP on 237 right after Great America PKWY but before Lawerence EXPWY.

Crow Canyon Rd between 680 and Castro Valley. The highway has a couple of divided sections. There are often motorcycle officers patrolling or hiding near Norris Canyon intersection--catching us commuters.

All along Danville Blvd in Danville. 25 mph at the high school. they will stop if you are doing 30 near the school.

Similar to Sausalito. 27 MPH on a 25 MPH road warrants a ticket... tourism doesn't seem to generate enough money so this is where the shortfall is recovered. Plus the cops don't have anything better to do (Read: damn safe, near crime-free area).

In SF... getting on 280-S from 6th St... usually a cop before it splits off to 101-S and 280-S. Sits on the right side shoulder before entering the slight turn. Hard to see.. but he's there.

580W merging onto 880S. There is a CHP that is hidden just to the left of the offramp. Should be noticeable right when your about to get on 880S.
