police/CHP/radar/camera sighting thread
Just starting another public service thread for the Norcal folks.
1. List your sighting of where you seen police/CHP are hiding.(Freeway/Local streets/etc.) I'm sure there are location of their favorite hiding places. Let's sniff them out!!
2. List location where you always get confirmed positive signals with your radar detectors. Band/laser/etc.
3. List location of confirmed cameras.
4. Anything else that might be of interest.

I'll start.
Agnew near by Lafeyette in Santa Clara. There is a 2-3 block 25 zone right by the Intel building. There is always a police siting in one of the driveways/parking lot waiting. The street goes from 35 to 25 back to 35 within a few blocks. It's fairly straight with couple of stop signs. Very easy to go over 25 and even 35. Not that I ever go pass the speed limit

Lafayette near the 237 over pass in Santa Clara. Speed limit is 40 (iirc) It's the straightest couple miles you ever seen. Also the road for many late night street racing scenes. There is a BMX track right around there. There is always a cop sitting in the dirt drive way by the fences. There is a slight bend that prevent you from seeing the hiding area. I seen a lot of cars getting pull over around there. I of course go speed limit through there

Coming down on 101 North after exiting the GG Bridge and past the tunnel, down the hill passing through Sausalito, a CHP car usually hides in a little dip behind a guard rail.

is that police officer there for speed traps or perhaps there to protect the gg bridge from any terrorist attack. i've seen them hiding there, too, but just figured that they were there for bridge security.

The CHP officer is not difficult to see if you are looking towards the right. I have seen them ZIP right out of that spot with the lights on... gives me that uneasy feeling whenever I see those lights in pursuit...

Plus the cops don't have anything better to do (Read: damn safe, near crime-free area).
In SF... getting on 280-S from 6th St... usually a cop before it splits off to 101-S and 280-S. Sits on the right side shoulder before entering the slight turn. Hard to see.. but he's there.
