Cool Going back to the Bay Area!! need some info!

Whatsup everyone. Glad to see there is a good group over there in the bay area. I'm originally from Fremont and have been away for about 8-9 years (military). I will be separating from the military in about a couple of months and will be "trying" to finish my grad degree.

Quick questions:

what are some reputable tuner shops that I can deal with when I get back?

is fremont really strict with hooked up cars? my Z is on the mild-side, but will add Greddy duals when it comes out. I'm not a racer, just an enthusiast. =)

thanks and can't wait to hook it up with you all at a meet or something.

The Strictly Z guys (Yuichi and Kyle) are really good and both take an active part in the NorCal Z community. They also share space with Stage Motorsports who does installs and engine work. Robert at Stage Motorsports is extremely knowledgable and I would recommend him for anything from installing an exhaust to engine rebuilds.
Strictly Z and Stage are both in San Jose (Almaden) about 20 minutes from Fremont.

BTW- looks like my car has found it's long lost twin

The SFR-SCCA autocross events are at the Stick, Coliseum, and Golden Gate Fields. There are 4-5 350Zs that usually show up.

failsaf, thats pretty funny how we gots the same rims/color--looks like you gotta get a kit! j/k. you got much cooler stuff than mine though...stoptechs, ecu, teins, injen ses...don't worry, i won't get all of that (yet). =)

can't wait to see all the autocross events/meets...see you all later..

welcome back!!!
as for your questions regarding the police, yeah, i heard that fremont pd is actually kinda strict on vehicle modifications. i've never had a first hand experience, but thats just what i heard. make sure you have all your 50-state legal badges and carb. #s.

Would second Moodie's recommendation of Exact Motorsport as the place to go for us non-DIYers.

Did your Z drop that much with the Eibachs without any other mods? If so, did you need any camber adjustment parts to properly align the wheels? Looks real nice with the 19" Volks.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.
Living in Fremont, I know and experienced that the cops here are pretty strict. Just don't cruise around Mowry & Fremont Blvd too much and you'll be fine.

I recommend Motorsport Technique in Hayward for performance parts and labor. I had really bad experience with Exact Motorsports back in the past and will never step foot back there ever again. PM me if you want to know what happened.

whatup all

thanks for the info--damn, carb#s and emissions, etc--what a pain. in florida people run with straight pipes, green neon everywhere, 10% tint, etc!! too funny--almost no rules. but its all good, ain't no place like cali...

i have no other suspension mods except for the eibach prokit. it may be a little lower as this mod was done a while ago and the car has settled. it is a perfect drop in my opinion. the wheel gap is almost nonexistent and i still don't scrape all too much--however, i do have to drive sideways on certain speedbumps--kinda ghetto but you can't have something for nothing. =)
i love the volks though. there is another guy out here in the fort walton beach area that has 19" racing harts that look really good too... there aren't too many Z's here that are modified, so it'll be great to see what others have done to their rides--i will definitely hit up the meets. peace!
