wow this brings back memories,I use to be into drifting hardcore in 1999 before it became mainstream and what i can recommend is that you get a cheaper car to drift in, I think the Z is good to drift in because of its TQ but if parts break MONEY MONEY,i would say get a 240sx or corrola something thats low on power that way you can concentrat on controlling that power first, but its all about angles, foot control, countersteering. I'm sure they hold drift days up north still and you can find a cheap 240sx,weld the diff and go out and have some fun. it requires flushing of rad fluid, brake fluid, brake pads, oil changes and going thru tires constantly.PLEASE dont do it on the streets tho my friend got caught doing and and now its counted as reckless driving on his record.
aye. i have a 91 240sx. i'm not a drift fanatic, but i like to go out to the track every couple of months and lay down some rubber. i'm currently looking for a 350z and i'm sure i'll still go to events every so often. there are events at thunderhill just about every month and tracy city council passed a proposal to build a drift track at the old Holly Sugar plant.
drifting the Z is a money pit sure its hella fun but as datsunhead said pick up a cheap rwd 240SX, Corolla, Starion / Conquest, Miata, old bimmer, etc.
drifting is fun i have a 98 kouki at home that i use here and there i dont mind it getting messed up atleast its cheaper to fix. i do wanna pick up a old (like 93ish) bmw 3 series 4dr to punish at the tracks hmm sounds like a new project is in the wings for me

I had a e36 a while back (4 door)way better handling than the 2 door,im guessing bcuz the doors have frames but man that thing handle....way better than my Z
nice i want a 4 door cause you really dont see a lot of 4 doors drifting stateside, japan got chasers, cefiros etc always marveled at their size and angle im looking into getting a e30 4door to beat up
why not just get a cressida? way cheaper than an e30 and just way more badass.
indeed cressi's are badass and i would do it but ive had my fair share of cressi's already 7m powered 2jz powered worked on em with a buddy of mine, this time out i want something different. out of the ordinary
lsd? you buy one ONCE. sure you have to rebuild it every so often, but it doesn't cost 1k every time. you don't need to be rolling out on a set of $1200 r888's. a set of $240 tires is perfect.
