Default crazy way to need a new front bumper

So i was driving home from work today around 1:30pm on 101 near SFO. I was doing about 70-75 mph minding my own business, when the taxi in the lane next to me window blows out. it looked like someone shot it out with a gun. All the glass from the window hit my car before it could hit the ground. It sounded like hail was coming down. By the time i realized what was going on the taxi driver slams on his brakes and exits the freeway. I didn't think about my car being damaged till i stopped at ranch 99 in emeryville. I took a look and my front bumper is done. It looks like i have been driving my Z on dirt roads for 5 years. The worst part about it is it just got repainted a month ago when i bought the car. my hood, fenders and windshield are also damaged but no where as bad as my bumper. I would try to claim this on my insurance but i doubt that it is gonna hold up since i dont have the taxi cab's plate #. So I guess i am just gonna be in the market for new bumper and hood!

damn that sucks, you should try it through insurance anyway, and show them the reciept from when you had your car painted so they wont say your car has always been like that.

Tell me if that story works. My front bumper is all rock chipped from touge, and I think that same taxi driver might have his window explode next to me too.

Crazy stuff. Glad you weren't in direct aim of whatever broke that window (bullet).
If you have Comp Ins. coverage, then pay deduct and Comp covers the rest...unless your deduct is more than a new bumper, then don't file claim.

Insurance should cover this. I have AAA and they covered painting my front bumper and hood on my MZB cause of rock chips. And I got my windshield cracked and chip on my roof of my Z and it also was covered.

Oh dont even trip- Insurance will cover this no problem aslong as you report it the "Day it happens". I was driving down 680 and a 10 wheeler launched a rock through my bmw window. With no questions it was teken care of.

cost me NOTHING.

Hm... will my esurance cover a new paint job? lol... my '03s paint is totally f'kd from rock chips and some minor scratches here and there.

Seriously... it looks like my front bumper caught a case of crabs.
