[Sacramento]: My Z saved my life
what had happen wuz he was following James Bond and he accidentally pressed the oil slick button when trying to change the radio from 102.5 to 103.5 da bomb to listen to some 50cent
Ok, now we have the full story. But I'm still not convinced that 15mph can cause such an extensive damage to your vehicle unless you WOT in 1st gear up to 15mph, then u lost control of your car, then into the ditch. Unless ur tires were completely bald, which, i highly doubt.

for extensive damage
- no scratches anywhere
- wheel got damaged as it hit the curb in parallel
- there is nothing to stop me from going into the ditch .... it was just slippery
and there was no traction
1st gear 15mph gas it then lift off causing engine braking in 1st gear causing the rear to slow down faster than the front? causing drift technique called shift lock.
Shift lock (compression slide)
Initiated by downshifting (usually from third to second or fourth to third, and using a very fast shift) instead of braking, without rev-matching, causing the drive wheels to lock momentarily. Helpful for very tight corners, allowing the driver to approach the corner at a slower speed and lower revs, while allowing quick acceleration when exiting the corner. This technique can be very damaging to the engine if mis-used as the ECU is unable to rev limit when the engine is oversped by the rear wheels.

the whole purpose of the thread is to tell others that ... too much speed too less speed... in ur 80's or in you 20's **** can happens .. be careful and be safe specially at this place in this season...
if you want to prove i was driving too fast then I am sorry to say but again I was not... else it would be major... im not saying that Cops told me..

counter steer and add power

Im already late for the gym but I will elaborate. You oversteer, lost it and tried to correct yourself causing you to go over the curb and into the ditch. Would this be closer to what happened?
I estimate the speed of the car @ 25-30 MPH when it lost traction. The speed wet road at a decline + the momentum is what caused you to easily go over the curb without any damage to the body + the fact that there was nothing for the body to really hit other than the pole you missed.
If indeed you would have been going 15 MPH the spin + the curb would have been enough to stop your car.

*shrug* you guys are vicious, either way, glad you're okay. And let's be honest, we've all done stupid things before behind the wheel, whether it be street racing and getting caught or ending up in a ditch.
Although I agree with everyone about cars not losing control let's cut the guy some slack. We're not all perfect.

I remember one time actually on a rainy day when I was still living in sac where I was coming down a banked curve near sac state toward my friend's house in my RX7 downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and ending up upsetting the rear to where I was going sideways down the curve, slid to a stop, and put it back in first and drove down the rest of the road. Good thing there wasn't any traffic near me.

Im glad the OP is okay and he wasn't hurt and it could have been worse if he would have hit the pole. I will check back later to see if the OP comes clean on the speed. Im really leaving for the gym now.
