1st Annual Mt. Pleasant High School Car/Motorcycle Show

When: Saturday July 18, 2009

Who: Everyone, all ages

Why: This is a fundraising event, that I gave the idea to my Journalism class. As for myself I am a true auto enthusiast that loves cars and motorcycles. This is my passion. Since the budget of our high school is being cut, lots of money that go to our journalism program is being cut. We are trying to raise enough money to have another successful newspaper next year.

Registration: FREE
All makes and models are welcome. Donations will be accepted
We also will be selling food and drinks as well.

Also we are in need of Sponsors that would like to sponsor this event.

Not to sound like I'm hating on the idea or anything but I think you'd get more people to sign up for this if it was free entrance free for our cars since it is after all a car show. The people looking and such should be the ones paying

 

yea i was thinking about that, but if we had it for free, i am not sure if we will fundraise any money. since we would have to pay for entertainment, paying the janitor to clean up, cops to patrol so things dont get out of hand, and food. All this adds up and we cant afford to break even at the end.

well c though, if i can get at least 60-80 cars to go i can maybe i can work something out.

 

That is ALOT of cars. I hope you are posting on alot more forums. Cause just out of experience you will probably get 10-15 cars out of here if you are lucky

Are you the teacher or a student? Either way Im glad you guys are thinking outside the box. Valuable lesson to teach High Schoolers, sometimes you have to fend for yourself. There aren't many handouts in life and if they want it, they shall work for it

 

It sounds like fun, but i think i will see how the details plan out before i commit to it. We need more details like roll in time, staging, ....etc

 

yea i am trying to post on all the forums i can get to. s2kibayarea,g35driver,hondatech,bimmerforums,etc.

if you are members of any other forums feel free to help spread the word. just make sure you let me know which forum you post on, so i can answer any questions people on that forum may have.

well i went to the Yerba Buena High School Car show about a month ago and approx. 50-60 cars went to that one. and they didnt post on that many forums.

 

Im a graduating Senior as of now.

 

yea for sure. once i at least get a head count of whos all coming, then i can start planing on staging times.

 

You should have free car registration, free entrance, and make money from donations and raffle off crappy prizes (like most car shows). You'll get greater participation/attendance if it's free, and greater attendance = more donations/raffle tickets sold/money made.

Also entertainment shouldn't cost you anything, it should be created somehow. Food should be put together by event coordinators, parents and attendees in a BBQ/pot luck fashion and sold to generate money.


^^Do all of this, and your car show fundraiser will be a success.

 

haha...you guys are hella persuading me now. if i change it now, i hope i get a great enough attendance that would pay back for all our expenses.

 

i gotta agree with them. they are trying to help too. i think u should get people to sponsor the music/entertainment, and food should be sold too, so they should reduce your expenditure.

even with free entrance, i'm afraid the participation level may not be very great. with a surcharge im sure it'll be worse. Good luck nevertheless, im sure u'll have a great experience!

Why don't you post one up on norcalevo.net & 8thcivic.com that should help you out a bit because most of my boys drives Evo's and SI's. Now about the entrance I agree that it should be free because the entertainment is about carshow and if there's 60-80 cars that should be enough to entertain everybody. Think about it not a lot of people would go if your going to have them pay for the entrance.

Now we're talking if its free then I can probably go to this one when is it again? what time? I will tell my Evo and Si friends. Most probably we can all go not unless schedule changes @ work. I will let you know for sure if all of us can go to this event.
