Default Bay Area Annual Meet Similar To Huntington Beach Meet?

I know that here in the Bay Area, Z meets have popped up here and there, but there doesn't seem to be a solid annual Z gathering, similar to Huntington Beach meet. I think the only meet that i know of that has happened annually has been Warren's Monterey meet, which has been a great success over the years. When i first got my Z, I had the opportunity to experience the last annual Treasure Island meet. To be honest, i had a great time, and it was quite a nice drive. I met quite a few really down to earth fellow Z enthusiasts, and yet at the same time, i was able to take a few ideas and made my car the way it is today. I was thinking, why not have an annual meet just like the Huntington Beach? Treasure Island is definitely a very good location because it is fairly accessible to everyone, great scenery, and the best of all, no speed bumps........ I know that people have tried to revive the Treasure Island Meet, but to no avail. I am just here to brainstorm and try to get a consensus whether this will work. If anyone can contribute ideas to this annual Bay Z gathering would be highly appreciated. Now lets get this thread going.....Hopefully, with all of your input, we can finally revive Treasure Island meet once more.....

I would definitely be there! Great place, nice scenery, awesome place for photoshoot! Only downside, no place to get food unless we bring them ourselves. But I don't think that's gonna be a problem at all.
Good idea Vince!

Same here, I went to several of them. I'm in for reviving it. I know we always went to Robins first, but bbq sounds better to me definitely and then treasure island afterward eating. Would need to check out on being able to bbq there, and also second to last annual run there was approx. 190 cars, so bbq might be a biggggggeeeee bbq for planning. Of course Quary Lakes was excellent, now let's see what we can do here if this is planned out. I think maybe, we might need a little more grill sizing though. lol...
1. Coordination/Reservation of the area to use, as it would be large. The big parking lot on right side as we entered had lots of room. Much more then the last one straight ahead.
2. BBQ: List of who brings what, plan on 8-10 working the tables (cooking, setting up, running the line to keep smooth) at least in the beginning if it turns out to be a very large gathering. If not then fore go the line.
3. Vehicle Control: Coordination as to where to line up the different models of cars in a nice picture happy viewing (huh Ed). Such as 240's in one spot, 350's different spot, porches another, gtr's their spot, g35's their own, etc. etc. as that was the way we had it prior and it was pretty nice for picture taking and looking.
4. Plan a meeting spot prior going to Treasure Island, so as convoy style drive, which would be fun, and nice viewing for onlookers, and arriving together in multiple groups is always a fun thing.
5. Need a head coordinator who which can do the actual planning and have the volunteer assistants to meet with and work with prior to the event, so that all goes smooth.
6. Possible sponsors for raffle would be nice. For this kind of event I could pm the Head Coordinator (when decided ahhhhh, Vince) a few contacts.

Just a few suggestions based on past experience and my own experience for my annual Carmel Valley/Pebble Beach Run. If I lived closer to you all and not way down south here in Salinas, I would be happy to help with the whole project, but the distance kind of ties my hands.

I was actually thinking about doing like a potluck/bbq style meet, which, requires attendees to at least bring something to contribute. I don't know, just an idea. Not too hot nor cold. I originally wanted to set the meet in Aug. Since i don't know what my schedule is in Aug, I really don't want to commit on a date just yet. Why don't we do this, lets have a list going now for sometime in Aug. As soon as i find out exactly what my schedule is in Aug, I will then set an exact date. What do you guys think? I should be able to find out my Aug schedule by mid or towards the end of July. Also, i really need everyone's commitment and cooperation with this meet. Once you sign up to bring something, you have to follow through.

Sounds like a good idea, I would be in for an event of this magnitude. With enough notice and promotion I may be able to get a large group from SAC to roll over.

Ok, I might be leaning towards Aug 22, 2009 as the official date for Treasure Island Meet. I just need to confirm with my boss tomorrow I have that weekend off. Ok guys, lets get ready for the meet! Ed, Jesse, and Warren (I know you are out of the country), lets prepare for this. Any additional volunteer who would like to be involved with this, please PM me on what you can help us with so i can coordinate with the rest to put together a plan. Thanks very much.......

P.S: Within the next couple days, i will start a list of those who will be attending the TI meet.

Default hey

I was thinking of making my meet (Summer Time In The SFC) something annual. Its about that time of the year anyways and I hopped over hear to check the calendar so I can start to work something out but looks like you already started on something. And chances are most people will only go to one meet and not go to the other, at least that's what happened to me last time I tried to make another not to long after the "Big One" It would be awesome if we could get somthin HUGE goin on with all Nissan Vehicles (I dont mind having all cars, the more the better)

Here are pics from last year, huge turnout of Z32s(at least 30+ but only 1Z32) https://my350z.com/forum/event-photo...co-z-meet.html

Let me know if you may wanna crash heads and make this one BIG meet!
PM me, nd we can make this work real well.

I also may be able to sponsor and make flyers and that type of stuff depending on how business goes for me these next few weeks.

Anyways cant wait for the meet!

I'm all for it but it sucks when people start bitching about "oh its too far, oh i have to pay for toll, blah blah blah" these are some of the reasons why i just dont go anymore cause people flake.

with that like i've said before, im down for the cause

You're right DSR, but then I will be coming from Salinas (a little distance), so hopefully nobody will think distance is a problem. Vince, Ed, and the guys know I travel to have fun.
I also think this was a good annual. We use to tag mine as the pre-Treasure Island Run before.

Vince, keep me posted. I'm leaving in 2 days. First need to check out the use of "TI" and how they reserved the space before. JamesZ used to always work with it, but I do believe he's now with the GTR Forum. Last time I had seen him, it was on that forum. Other guys are either out of CA, or don't have Z's anymore. I will see if I can find a internet cafe in "PI", like my buddy, (won't mention any name Ed) told me about, this way maybe I can help out some way from the other side of the world where I'll be for 29 days relaxing. If I connect, I will pm you right a way.
The large parking lot on the right side when we go in would be excellent spot as to plenty of space, and there's grass there also to relax. Should probably get a volunteer Vince to have somebody visit 'ti" AND CHECK IT OUT. Then as an after thought, either we make a couple arrows, or have somebody posted at the turns to guide people in (again volunteers) to help out. Next have a few show the first ones in where to park in the separate parking areas by types/models. Once that's started, it will or should be a no brainer as other show up. I'll shortened this, and as you start planning, shoot me pm's, once I find a cafe, I'll start corresponding with you through pm's to help out that way. Mark did a good job at Home Depot also I think, we should grab him too. Soon as I return, I'll do landmine with you also. You can pull this off, I know it...a-n-d i-f n-o-t I get your Z!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Driving to Treasure Island is pretty much easy. Warren, the large parking lot you're referring to is perfect.

Here's a shot from the Treasure Island Car Show recently.

Guys, thank you very much for your support. I really want to make this work. I will coordinate with the people who will be helping to make this happen. Warren, mark,ed,and jesse, thank you for giving me a hand to make this possible. It looks like Aug 22, 2009 will be the official date of TI meet.

You're right. But that area was occupied at that day. Though it would be awesome if we can get that spot.
Bay Bridge as the backdrop - simply fantastic!
