Hi Bill, The video is coming along. I got a bit bogged down at work, but I will try to finish it next week. I have made 4 or 5 versions in Video Wave5. I am still figuring out what looks the best. I have been mixing edits with short shots, long shots, some slow motion mixed in. I will send you a CD soon. The last down hill run, shot from inside the car gives a real sensation of speed.

Ken,

No rush. Take your time so you can play around with it as much as you need/want.

Bill,
I finished the video last night. I will call you tomorrow for your address, or you can swing by my store if you perfer. The video's not bad. It plays a little jerky on my computer. I recorded it in MPEG format. Seemed the best balance of recording time vs. quality. But the next one will be recorded in higher quality. Also, it is a little on the short side, 2:26 minutes. I could have lengthened it with some not so interesting shots, but decide on quality instead of quantity. I for sure would like to figure out a better way to record the exhaust note. I thought about overdubbing some recordings, but I think it would be diffucult to sync everything.

Ken, thanks for the CD, it looks great... the car/road shots were great, but the cockpit shots were shaky... overall, pretty good for the first run... let me know when the next one is... we should get a bunch a Z's on it... thanks again...

Z-INCOGNITO, thanks for the compliment. Cockpit shots were shaky. I was holding the camera by hand. I'm thinking about buying a camera mount that attaches to the window with suction. 115.00 bucks. Last weekend I mounted a tri-pod in the rear and secured it with tie-down straps. Fairly steady, but limited views. I have a lot of ideas I would like to try. Practice makes perfect. The next video will be shot on faster roads. Franz Valley rd. should do the trick.
This sunday, as you probably know, there is a possible meet in Napa. Weather permiting. Maybe the 16th of Nov?

Ken,

Got my copy of the video Monday night. Pretty good attempt for your/our first try in a Z. I think you were right to cut out most of those not so interesting road shots. I would have liked to see more of the last downhill run from inside and outside the cockpit just out of curiosity.

FYI, I checked under the car for the road crown scrape. It hit the tranny brace...no place else. All's ok.

Did you check out the link I sent you about the headrest mount....is that workable?

Bill,
I will put the whole downhill run on a CD for you. I will mail it friday. I did not see the link regarding the headrest mount. Could you try it again. I would like to try a second video in the near future. As I said in previous postings, I re-discovered Franz Valley road and hwy. 128 to Chalk Hill rd. Much higher speeds. Should make for a more exciting video. Let me know the next time you are available for a shoot, or anyone else who might be interested. Glad to hear your Z is ok. That was a hard hit.
