MOD Friendly Dealer In South Bay
Somewhere between service at Boardwalk and Capitol, they rotated my front tires a while back.....
And no, this was not the Roaring TSB rotation which they take the tires off the rim and rotate them. The literally put my left front tires/wheels as my right front tires/wheels and vice versa.... ~sigh... the directional arrow was pointing toward the back....
Anyways, my car is at Steven Creek right now with Jim. Also went on a test drive this morning with Gary. Great customer service so far and Gary seems very knowledgable. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress.

Did anyone in the bay area get their cloth seats replaced? I've been thinking about getting it done cause the side bolster on the driver side seat is looking a bit worn after only 7000 miles.
1st impression on Steven Creek, Jim and Gary.
I would give them a thumbs up!!
They followed the TSB and swap my tires around. Gary showed me where the feathering were and it was very minor on the right tires. They also put my car up on the alignment and it came out within spec thus no new tires for me....
I guess I could call this both a blessing as well as disappointment. Was wishing for a new tire, but glad the issue wasn't as major as some of the other guys on the forum. Anyways, if you are planning on getting the "roaring" tsb done, go open a case with NNA CA(1800-nissan1) first. Jim will reference it in your paper work. They will then check with Nissan and make their recommendation base on the condition of your tires and how out of spec your alignments are.
The 2nd TSB that I originally set out to get done was the 2nd Bose amp replacement. They had one avail and performed the swap for me. All in all, it does sound more crisp when you crank the volume up to 15. Anything below 10, is kinda flat. But I would say it's an improvement over the last one. Now they just need to swap out the head unit or speakers and we can really have a "premium" system. Those with Touring go get this amp swapped out!!
Anyways, since I was there , I figure I also get the rattle and shifter looked at. I went on a test drive with Gary and amazingly, no rattle what so ever.... ~sigh. Gary told me to give him a call next time it rattles and drive it over. As far as the shifter, mine was having issue with shifting to 5th and 6th. Gary tried it at low speed and made a note of it. But would like to try it on the highway. Since my car was up on the rack most of the day getting the wheels swapped out a by a wheel shop they used, they didn't get to test drive it. He said just call ahead whenever and bring it in whenever convient for me so they can check it out.
Overall, the were very curteous and kept thanking Yuichi for bringing them more business
After today, I do feel more comfortable leaving my Z in the hands of Jim and Gary. On top of that, (I believe) they are the same system as Capitol thus they were able to pull up all my service records with them.
Hopefully one of you that have a bunch of mod (failsafe/Mgv156) can give us an impression after you get your car service there.

Failsafe is the KING OF MODS in the Bay Area!!! There are so many things on my wish list that I want done, but can't do anything til my house is done.
Fortunately, I haven't had the Service Engine Soon light come on since I put my stock intake back w/ a K&N drop-in. I'm going to try to schedule the tire roar and rattling TSBs hopefully next week and will contribute my assessment of their service on this thread.

talked to a buddy at nissan they should have a TSB for the seats because they upgraded the pieces and material on the drivers side I believe. So you should be able to get a new one. I would look into it, cause otherwise its going to get worse with as much as we will get in and out of the car.

Here's my Review:
Had my car serviced on 11/11/03 at Steven's Creek. Went directly with Jim for the paperwork and Gary took care of the job order. I got the following problems taken care of: 1.)Tire Roar TSB, 2.)Rattling noise on passenger side, 3.)new motor for driver side window because Capitol Nissan didn't fix my window-not-going-down-when-opening-the-door the first time I developed the problem. In addition, got an oil chage w/ the Mobil1 oil I supplied. Also met Bruce (longbowe) while waiting there and eating some donuts. I also got to check out the new Armada and it's beautiful.
Overall assessment:
Jim and Gary are the guys that know what's going on w/ the 350Z. I would definitely go there again for any kind of warranty work.

For all of you people that have been Serviced by Jim or Gary. When you get a survey in the mail. Please circle excellent for everything.
Reason I'm asking you is I found out they don't get paid if you dont' do that and it comes out of their own personal pay check. So I don't think anyone deserves this. So if you do get warrenty work by them please circle excellent. Or call Jim and let them know to explain the warrenty for you
thanks guys

True what U1 said. When I got a survey from them, I just brought it back to Jim and had him do whatever he wanted with it. That was when I learned about that deduction. The salesmen also get a survey, but under the previous management (the GM and GSM were replaced about a week after Halloween), it was never deducted from the salesmen's commissions.
I went to Steven's Creek three months ago to get my warranty work done. They did a good job on the work, the only problem is that the feathering and the window not dropping is back. I knew they were going to come back and when I notified Gary, he told me I was the first one that he knows of that had my feathering come back. I dont know if he is BSing me or not but I am very doubtful that I am the first to let him know of this. He told me that he will take a look at this but there is not much he can do, he also told me that it is a Tire Manufactuer issue not the car. Just wanted to let everyone know about there stance on the tire feathering. Thanks for hearing me out.
