ClubZ.org track day @ Thunderhill
Well it did end up raining. We did have some points where the track was dry, but rain pretty much summed up the day. I hope everyone had fun.
I think everyone but Ed, Jason and Zballs spun out. Besides that Whatever, karmamag, lemanz, and I are in the MUD People club! Hopefully next event there will be no rain!!
great seeing everyone out again!

After 12 hr. of sleep... i am sort of bacak to normal... then again ... can anyone be "normal" again after THUNDERHILL in RAIN!!!
I had a blast and it was great to hang with the hard core group!! Learn a lot about my car and the life of a race car driver!!!
People are great at the track and met some new friends. Even i cracked my bumper a lil bit... still had a awsome time!!!
sorry about being silent on the radio on the way back... batteries died....
of course while i am in front of the computer... nice SUNNY day outside...
I can still see all of the turns in my head.... entry, apex, exit.... don't floor it on the exit!!!!!

We had five sessions the first three were wet but no rain. By the second session the track was dry enough to hear tire screeching, by the third session the track was really starting to dry out but then it started to rain and so the A group probably had a wet third session. During the fourth session it was still raining and on the fifth it was really starting to come down. A friend of mine tagged along for this event and brought his dvcam. I strapped it to the back and took vids of sessions 2-5. I'll try to put something together. Based on that tape... i was running about 2:35 in the dryest conditions and around 2:55-3:10 in the wet. I admit it would have been better without the rain.... but driving in the rain was definitely an exciting experience. hehe.
Nice to finally meet some more forum people.
Things to work on:
1. Brake zones. I just don't know where they are yet.
2. Heel toe. Once I master this, I can really focus on my brake zones.
3. Riding out the drift. I'm not putting down enough power on corner exit.

Man that was a blast. Nice to meet Ed and George for the first time and glad everyone could make it out. It rained pretty hard in the afternoon but I think we all learned a great deal about wet car control. Riding with the instructors in their cars was insane!!!!
There were quite a few spins into the mud by both first timers and instructors. But no serious incidents which says volumes about the instructors and all the drivers. 70+ cars doing laps for 8 hours and the worst thing that happened was some people got their cars dirty. For those of you that missed it, you should see if you can make it out to the next event. ClubZ.org is planning 3 track events in '04 so there will be plenty of opportunity.
Big thanks to Bill, Dan and the rest of Clubz.org for coordinating this event. And a big thanks to Thunderhill staff for having us and letting us run in the rain.

I could send it over... but it's not really that entertaining... I enjoy watching it and remembering what I did and didn't do, but you don't really get a sense of speed from it. Plus I haven't capped any of it yet. Oh.

so... my buddy that came along took all these pics, so thanks to him. Unfortunately he wasn't familiar with you guys' cars so most of the pics are just me with some cameos. These are the best ones.
Here's some koch we saw on the way to willows:

That guy in the audi... (Paul) was fast. For those that didn't meet him... he was driving a 1.8t front wheel drive audi a4. Chip, suspension and exhaust. He passed me in every session. He was like... whoa...
