No helmet for me tonight for the first time, and my first time in an automagic. It will be weird to be that guy who sits at the tree for a few seconds while the other car goes, but I look forward to the RT practice. I'm leaving Palo Alto in 30 minutes - see you all up there!

It was a great time, and the Z/G turnout was great. I saw at least 8 Zs, and at least 4 of them made it through the first few rounds. Walt (Fowlman) took runner-up in the Sport Street class, and I took runner-up in the Sport (V8) class because I was asleep at the light for the final run - bah! Rob took a bunch of pictures, so I'll get those posted up after he shares them. I was happy with how the Titan was running tonight (15.6xx), but was more impressed with Rob's borrowed QX56 that was running 15.2s! We both decided that drag racing is much more interesting in an automatic.
We're hoping to get even more Nissans and Datsuns out to the next event!

A couple of pics, including my best run of the night (my opponent red-lit, so I stayed on the throttle all the way to see what the Titan would run as the evening cooled down).
Right lane, car 76:
"VERY RAD" (and a very cute young woman driving it, too!)
Track n00b (first time) in his supercharged 350Z. I believe he managed a 13.51 at ~107mph by the end of the night.

Agreed, but I'm ok with waving the first-timers flag for him. He tried to be more aggressive with a few runs, but his stock clutch wasn't really allowing a hard launch. At least he was consistent, and made a won a few rounds! He'll get better, and I think he has scheduled some shop time for an upgraded clutch!
I just read some tricks about what Titan owners do to get better times, so we'll see how much I can reduce my time assuming I take the Titan back out again.
