Default Got a fix it ticket in socal

Got a fix-it ticket in socal for missing front plate and expired registration. I thought that I can go to any officer, get it signed and bring it to any court, but the ticket seems to indicate that I have to go to socal to do everything. Does anyone have any experience? Thanks.

I believe the ticket has to get signed off by the same department/jurisdiction that issued it.

Im almost sure there is a number on the ticket or you can Google the courthouse listed on the ticket and call them. They should be able to answer your question(s).

Nothing better than getting the answers from the source

Thanks for the replies. Called the number bunch of time but everything is automated. Impossible to talk to a person directly.

I will try to get it signed by a local guy here and see what he says.

Can you get it signed off by any cops on the street or do you have to bring it to a court and get it signed there?

It can be any officer. I went to the PD and got it done that way.

Any law enforcement agency in the state can sign off a "fix it" it ticket. In your case, they will have to do a visual inspection on your front plate and current registration. Of course, there will be an administrative fee you will have to pay to the department to get that done. Plus, there are "court fee's" that have to be paid to the appropriate court.

You will be better off going to your local CHP office to get the ticket signed off.

Look at the bottom of the ticket, what court did they assign for your ticket.

Fyi.. I just walked up to an officer and asked him about this. You can have any officer sign the ticket regardless of the jurisdiction. He also recommended to find an officer on the street rather than going to the station, as they may charge you a fee.
