Long story.....I have a 1-car space garage and the door is too damn small. I didn't know the rear right fender was that close to the door (not the wall) when I was backing my car out of the garage. Is this going to cost over $1,000? This is going to hurt my insurance.
a side question:
My insurance company just sent me a bill for renewal (next 6 months). If I were to pay the full premium now, will they adjust the premium within the 6 month period (say, I claim this accident a month later)?

SCD collision body shop is the only shop i've been to and i strongly recommend it. They fixed the rear end of my 350z (almost $3000 worth of dmg) and they also fixed the front end of my lexus ls400 (almost $11,000 worth of dmg) and now they look flawless. They might be a bit pricey.. i dont know u'll have to compare the prices yourself but you do get what you paid for.. i strongly recommend them though. take cares and good luck with ur car fix.
You should only look at using insurance in the event of a major cost / collision. Now days, trying to save $300-400 after you pay your $500 / 1000 deductable is not worth it. And don;t jump around insurance companies looking for better rates. That hurts you.
The only claim I've done in the 15 years I've been with my insurance company is when I took my 3000GT into a guard rail. And that is why I enjoy $400 / 6 months premiums for my Z. That doesn't mean its been the only damage I've done, I just never claimed it.
Even making inquries to your insurance company, saying "what if I . . ." can cause your rates to jump.
Check out Capitol Collision - its down the road from the Nissan Dealership by the Almaden Expressway. They are really good - fast, and will look for ways to save you cash. They did a really good job matching my 3 part process 3000GT pearl white paint.

If you're looking for a great bodyshop in the area, check out Car Care Autobody & Refinishing. Had them do work on my cars a few times and they did an excellent job. But, don't just take my word for it ... check with some of the insurance companies and you will hear plenty of praises from them about Car Care.

My guess is this damage will cost over $1000. I have never claimed insurance before. I'm paying $550/ 6 months.....they sent me renewal for $620/ next 6 months. If I were to claim 500 deductible, how badly is it going to hurt me?
Kuykendall's Auto Body quoted me $1100 -1300. That's pretty steep. I'm going to get more quotes from other bodyshops.
Some ppl mentioned about color mismatch. How hard is it to match 04 Silverstone color? I thought old car colors are harder to match.

i went to several bodyshops and they all quoted me somewhere in between 1100-1400. i can pay for the damage but this amount is not small. I have 500 deductible...if I can claim my insurance without a huge impact on my rates then I want to do it. If it's gonna cause my rates to go up as if I were to pay for the damage by myself then why bother.

But there's no way I can prove that. They all claimed they have worked on Silver Zs before. I checked out their garages, no Zs....mostly integras and altimas.

To make a long story short... an uninsured illegal alien hit me... and i found out i dont have uninsured coverage... deductable is also $500... estimates around $1000... i'd rather pay for it on my own (so premium dont go up) & then after i get the police report (Sta. Cruz PD) i'll go after the guy (actually his borther owns the car that hit me...) & sue them... THIS WAS THE ADVICE I GOT FROM ANOTHER SHERIFF... longer but less hassle... (insurance wise)
