I did it...put a deposit down on a house....
Congrats on the new House!
For the Plasma and LCD thing... in a year or so a bunch of new companies are going to jump into the market, like Intel's gonna make Plasma Screens (this means cheapers plasma screens)
Right now, LCD's are good and cheaper... so... if money is an issue.
Not sure which is the best way to go... but personally I'd get a Plasma.

Plasma had a rather short life span when compared to LCD, although the contrast is much better on Plasma.......
Tough decision......

Does anyone know the difference? I am leaning towards the LCD because I heard Plamsa may have the burnin problems...
Any Pros / Cons to both?

Plasma vs. LCD
What's the difference between a plasma display and an LCD flat screen, and how do these differences enter into your decision-making process? Often "plasma" is used as a general term for thin, flat displays or monitors, but there are some general differences in the technologies, as listed below. Overall, LCD is great for displays 30 inches and smaller, and plasma is ideal where 32-inches or larger display is needed. They are complementary technologies. LCD has a inherent delay and will "artifact" moving images on larger LCD's
Plasma
1) Viewing angle - 160 degrees+, typically about 90 degrees vertically
2) Size - 32-61 inches
3) Lightsource - Emissive (internal)
4) Switching speeds - <20ms (video rates)
5) Color technology - Phosphor (Natural TV colors)
6) Ideal application - TV, signage, public display
LCD
1) Viewing angle - Up to 160 degrees horizontally, typically less
2) Size - 2-28 inches
3) Lightsource - Transmissive (External backlight)
4) Switching speeds - >20ms (may have image lag at video rates)
5) Color technology - Color Filters (Not the same color system as TV)
6) Ideal application - PC data, PC graphics, desktop use
Hope this helps. For me, I would go for the Plasma.
Just my two cents...
Plasma is cool and all, but the only downfall also is the "burning image affect"... for example if you were watching FOX or the WB where the logo is on the bottom corner all the time, after a while that image gets so hot (more electricity $$$ too) and the image will get burned into the screen after time, as the others have said, an LCD would be fine, that way you can spend your money on your new home
like a california king...woohoo! i know that's what i want in my 1st house...hehe!
