Okay, I've been passing this idea around in the SoCal forum, and there seems to be some interest. At the very least, some folks will be meeting up at Santa Barbara. I just wanted to see what a good date would be. I'm passing Saturday 26 June around down there, and here too. What do you guys think?

Rough itinerary:

1. Ocean Beach
2. Santa Cruz (Natural Bridges again? )
3. Big Sur
4. San Luis Obispo
5. Santa Barbara
6. Santa Monica
7. Newport Beach
8. San Diego

 

Possibility.... the CCC Meet or the Three C Meet we can call this one, huh?

(Individual or group) Lodging arrangements are in order, huh?

 

If we like alliteration, we could also make a *gasp* Reno Run some time between RATB-II and CCC.

 

Reno Run sounds great.... let's see what the others think.

 

Bruce, your itinerary drive will take at least 12+ hours !! What you smoking man, j/k .

 

June 26th sounds like a good date... hopefully i can make it! maybe i can meet with you guys in santa monica or newport beach, but i'll be checkin on how this itinerary goes... take care all!

Whao.... all in one day???
Was originally thinking about just doing a one day run down to Hearst Castle... while opening this up to the Socal folks to meet up . This way, nice enjoyable hwy1 drive down and an interesting spot tour as well. (~200 miles down, ~200 miles back)...
sorry for high jacking this thread Bruce... I'll post in another thread to gather interest..

No worries, this is a preliminary thread anyway. And yes, all in one day. Only the truly hardcore need apply! Either that or this is going to have to be a 2-day event.

The Mystery Spot run was instructive as to what happens when 40 people try to take a collective half-hour break. :P

 

I should be in town that weekend. Great! I'll be joing yall at either Santa Monica or New Port Beach. Keep us So Cal Z'ers posted as well.

I miss u all already *sigh* going on my 3rd day here and i'm feelin a little homesick just wanted to check in with you all & let you know that i made it down safely, 400+ miles later and many bugs' lives taken...lol! i'm finally here, unpacked and figuring out where everything is... as i said in my earlier post to this thread, i'd meet up with you all at santa monica or newport, can't wait! should be fun!!! take care everyone, this little girl is gonna sleep...

Okay, I'm getting some BS from work, and there's a possibility I won't be able to make June 26. I know some folks are planning to go to Anime Expo around July 4th weekend. So, how does the weekend of the 10th sound to y'all?

 

Longbowe, if you're able to set up a NorCal/SoCal meet like this, well, it would be very cool. I'm sure a lot of SoCal people would be down for this.

A meet at Santa Barbara would be nice and then a drive down PCH followed by dinner would be fun. Do this right and you could have a very large meet!
