want to buy an '04 Z in the bay area...
Wherever you decide to go, check with the Internet manager before going to the dealership. Believe it or not, you will get some of your best deals via Internet quotes. I agreed to prepurchase in Feb '03 at MSRP and talked the saleman down $400 more dollars below that. I know people that bought 6 months after me that paid $1000 over MSRP (not sure if they spoke with the Internet manager though). You can access numerous Inet managers in your area via edmunds.com (which will also tell you what you should expect to pay in your local area, on average).
I bought mine at Ellis Brooks on Van Ness in SF. Only bad thing from them was that the front bumper was drilled for the license plate holder

i got mine at broadwalk nissan in redwood city. my salesman's name was russell. he was really cool and friendly. some other dealers that i went to check out the z, they wouldn't even let me test drive it, probably cuz i look young and poor. well russell let me test drive one and i eventually ordered one from him $1250 below msrp. i would highly recommend russell to anyone buying a nissan, esp. a z.
watch out for his manager tho, he was a total a jerk and very unprofessional.
oh and no frt. bumper holes for me......i made sure to include that in the paperwork when i ordered.

Man, I guess money won't be my biggest obstacle. It looks like there's NO blue enthusiast manuals in the area. None! And the only other color is orange.
Looks like I have to order one.
Anybody know when the '05's are coming?

update: I'm going through Rod @ capital nissan. He's offering $1000 off of MSRP at the moment but there is no car available that I want. (6sp blue, eth, no options)
He's looking at some possible cars with aero kits and splash guards and I'm going to try to get 1/2 off on those since I didn't want them in the first place.

i got mine at san rafael too
My experience with them on the whole has been very positive. I dealt with Sue... i can't remember her last name but her business card said "Sueshi". haha
On another note... I got a letter from Doc(?), from one of the SouthBay dealers, asking me if I was still in the market for a Z.

DO NOT GO TO STEVENS CREEK NISSAN!
I argued for 6 hours to pay invoice for an '04 Redline Touring 6MT at invoice back in Sept '03. Then they tried to make it up by screwing me on my IS300 trade. I caught them and they were really pissed. I finally walked out trading in my IS300 for more than I paid for it and got the car at MSRP.

Got mine at Walnut Creek Nissan... of course I got mine back in '02, so getting one for under MSRP was almost out of the question (made a lot of calls). But, they were one of only 2 dealerships at the time that sold the Z's for MSRP... the other was Fremont Nissan.
Either place was very cool, easy, and hassle free.
Can't remember the guys name at Fremont Nissan.
Ended up getting mine at WC, cause they got the car faster.

When I was tracking down a 350ZR, I first dealt with Stevens Creek. What a waste of time. I wanted to keep it short and sweet (the sales rep called me daily for a week to followup), but when I finally came in to talk numbers, they were totally ridiculous. They were asking about $47K +T&L for a Touring Roadster with S-Tune Exhaust and springs/shocks. Needless to say, I gave the sales manager 10 minutes to reconsider, he didn't, and I walked.
Ended up going to Capitol Nissan. Told them the Stevens Creek experience. They were a full 180. Great group of people, especially since they were open to give their parts and service dept.'s business, and incorporated Nismo mods into the purchase price upon my request. Picked up a Silversone on their lot. Still paid well under MSRP (plus a decent break on the Nismo parts). Nonetheless, may have been the fact I was acquiring a roadster on a raining Friday in December.
