Any reccomendations on local track events that are heavy in instruction and still provides a decent amount of track time? Can't make the 2 upcomming Thunderhill Unlimited Laps events as they are on weekdays and I can't swing the Thunderhill track school in April as I'm out of town on that day. So I'm looking for feedback on any other local events coming up either at Infinion or T-Hill that meet the above requirements. Thanks in advance.
Too bad you just missed T-Hill with ClubZ.org. It's a fairly loose track day with some good instruction and lots of track time. ClubZ's next confirmed track day is in Nov. but they're trying to add a date in June or July. You should try and sign up for the TrackMasters S2000 track day @Laguna Seca. Space permitting there will be a group of us heading down.
I'll second Thunderhill as a fun beginner's track. (or non-beginners!) Their performance driving school is inexpensive, you get lots of track time with decent instructors, and the track has a wide variety of technical corners that really teach you how to handle all sorts of situations. Decently safe run-offs on just about all the corners, too, so you're not really in danger of hitting anything if you slide off the track. (Ahem... not that I would know anything about that.)
