Thumbs up First Day at Thunderhill

I just got home from Thunderhill and had an outstanding day. I had my new suspension setup and big tires(see my profile for setup). I did 2:30 prety consistantily and had one 2:28. We were running with a total of 25 cars on the track at a time. I ran with the intermediats and only got passed by three cars each section. They were the same cars almost every time. I would try to follow and this really helped learn the fast line.

One thing I was surprized was that I was faster with the VDC on. It was easier on braking and car control. I had to be careful with braking as I could smell my brakes but with high temperature brake fluid it did not fade. I did really heat up my power steering fluid so I can see a cooler on the horizon. New brakes will be next winter.

I took some pictures but I have to load the sofware to dow load off the camera. I will do it tomorrow.

I ran with Chekered Flag Racing club. It was a great experience and these are really nice people. I think I will try to join. It requires a reccomendation to join and you must be a guest to attend prior to getting voted in.

Can't wait for the next track day. I can see me getting hooked really quick. What a rush!!!!

Sounds like you had a good time- very fun track. I know TrackMasters is running at Thunderhill on May 21st but it will be with the bypass open between 4 and 5a (no Corkscrew). They are also running at Thunderhill again on June 4th (Course TBD).

I think a few of us might try and run one of these dates since it looks like we will not make Laguna Seca on May 15th.

If you're interested in signing up for TrackMasters their web site is http://www.trackmasters-racing.com. It's free to join if you're interested in joining.

Nice job. Nice setup you have. You might benefit from a brake upgrade if you don't have the Brembos.

Yes that is the next upgrade. This summer I will add cooling ducts just to delay the burning. This winter will get either a Brenbro set from a crashed "Z" or buy a 6 pot upgrade and 4 pt rear.
