visiting San Francisco
Hi. I will be going to San Francisco June 17-22. I will be driving and have never been to the bay area. I am looking for places to visit, things to do etc. I will be going to Marine World one day. Also plan on visiting Alcatraz. Also would like to go to Napa. Do you guys have a meet planned that weekend?
Not that this matters but I am a girl, some people think I am a guy because of my screen name.
Thanks in advance
Kendria

Haha don't mean to crash your trip, but join us and head down to So Cal for the Z convention
If not enjoy your stay in the bay area
I still have yet to visit alcatraz even though i've lived here my whole life

Same sentiment about the Alcatraz thing... guess it must have to do with the tourist association

Too bad that you'll miss the BBQ meet we have this 13th... but there are plenty of places to visit in the Bay Area... Twin Peaks, Union Square, Marin County, et al.
Maybe we could coordinate some sort of mini-meet or something since you are coming from out of town, but that would be contingent upon the availability of most members. In any case, I'll repeat Yuichi's sentiment... enjoy your stay in the BA, the best place to live as is evident by our housing prices
Hit up the board when you're in the bay to see who may be in the areas that you will be visiting (for any particular day)

Hi, kendria I'm still up in the air on "Z" conv. in L.A. are you looking fore a good ride? if so skyline drive south of RT92 down about 18mi. 's is Alice's Resteraunt.(the song) sat. & sun. mornings about 200 bikes & 50 sport cars meet to "do the corners" really a great ride. Try not to miss it. more to come from the Gang. i hope!!!! lets goooo people.
There are some great twisty back roads to get to Napa. Unfortunately you kinda have to know the area to find them. If you're interested, I'll see wat I can do to get you some directions. It's a beautiful drive.
Let's not forget Mt. Diablo! In Napa, there's Highway 116, which was nice and twisty for about 2 miles (the RATB2 guys remember both things I mentioned). Hit us up, and have loads of fun!
I've lived here all my life too and have only been to Alcatraz once (on a grade school field trip). Best part was definitely the ferry ride over.
If you are driving lots, I'd reccomend checking out a Hwy 1 drive from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay and beyond. Not really a demanding drive but it's right along the coast so it's very beautiful.

I'm free that weekend, Friday too, if anybody wants to hook up for a mini run....maybe Napa or Marin.
kendria: are you actually staying in SF or another area? Never been to Alcataz either but might be interested. Access is from my side of the bay anyway.

Hey, thanks alot for all of your suggestions and comments. I would have loved to have gone the the meet down in LA, however my husband does not get the whole car thing. So I thought that wouldn't really be fair.
So far these are my plans, Thursday night dinner at Caffe Sport. Friday Marine World, Saturday Nappa.
Shortcut3d if you and your girlfriend can make it pm me.
Does anyone know if the Clifhouse isstill open, their website says that it is being renovated?
Thanks again for the response.

Kendria: If you really want to have a good time and see Napa you might want to take the Wine Train trip instead of just driving around.
