The max penalty for over 100 mph is $1750 and a 45 day suspension. CHiPs wasn't kind enough to write my ticket for 95mph.

Judge saved me $1113 and 30 days!

Only thing that sucks is that I can't correct it through traffic school so I am stuck with the 2 point hit!!!!

It didn't work for my ex. She ended up losing in court even though the cop never showed up, and the judge wouldn't let her go to traffic school so now she has a point on her record.

I got pulled over on 101 two years ago going 130~, and the cop wrote up the ticket as 95+mph and my ticket was around 350. And MGV156, it's not true that you can't go to traffic school for violations over 25mph because I was able to go to traffic school just fine, even though my ticket was for 30+mph over.
SPF,

My gf got ticketed going 95 on a 65 and she wasn't allowed to take traffic school. This is what Santa Clara county traffic court told her. May be it's different for other counties??

Did she have a previous ticket less than 18 months before that one? Because my ticket was in Santa Clara Country as well. I just got the fine sent to me via mail, and I just paid for the ticket and the traffic school as you'd normally do.

Around where on NB I-5 were you? I got snagged going NB on 5 a few years back doing 105 but CHP put me down for 95 but still 25MPH over the limit does not qualify you for traffic school. I had to plead with the judge on that one given my driven record was immaculate. If you didn't get your court date yet.....just reschedule. Just last year I got one on HWY 50 going to tahoe. CHP rescheduled on me, I rescheduled on him and when the court date came he was there but for different citations and no idea or information regarding mine so he requested a dismissal. I got off scotch free!!!! Hope you have the same luck!

Anyone get a speeding ticket on the 5? What happened? How much was your fine? Or did you get suspended?

Help!

Not true at all. I was eligible for traffic school when I was given a citation for 95+mph.

Furthermore, it is not a a felony to go over 100 mph. This is simply not true.

Trust me... If you get busted for over 100mph: no traffic school and 2 points. The cop wasn't nice enough to write my ticket for 95mph...He stuck it to me for 108mph.

And, it is not a felony.

I got nailed about a year ago with a similar situation. He said I ws doing 112 and geve me the speach about an automatic misdemeanor & License suspension for over 100mph. Anyway I was really nice and so was he...wrote me up for 85+ and the fine was about $175.00 if I recall. I had a clean record at the time and I know the two factors that affect the fine are the number of points already on your record and the county you were caught in. I think I was in Kern county at the time. Good Luck
