Default tire feathering warrenty

I recently received the factory warrenty extension for tire feathering.. Has anyone taken their car to the dealer and actually get new set of front tire?

My appointment is next week in Fremont Nissan.... i wonder what they will tell me....?

I got my extension in the mail as well. Im kinda hesistant to go to the dealer since i have a TT. I dont want them to put in their computer that my warranty is void and all. Im most likely take it to either capitol nissan or stevens creek nissan. Im still getting the loud growl noise when braking and it drifts to the right a lot.

Oh LemansZCa, can u do me a favor....ive heard that fremont nissan is mod friendly. Can u ask any of the service advisors if they will do this fix even if i have a Turbo kit. I know this problem has nothing to do with the turbo kit but some dealers are punks and will probably give me a hardtime about not being able to service it since it has aftermarkets parts. I would appreciate this. Thanks. BTW when is ur appointment?

Default Boardwalk

Took mine to Boardwalk, they replaced the tires, and didn't say a thing about any mods. I had a noise in the front suspension when I turned which they also fixed. But for some reason they ordered and replaced my rear axle bearing, which I had no problems with. They bent my dust jacket so it touched my rotor when I drove it and made a sound. SO I took it back to have them fix that, which they did. Now unfortunately I think the bearing they replaced is making noise, I hear a clacking sound when accelerating in 1st 2nd and 3rd. Taking it back again. At least they did a good job on the tire replacement, much less tire growl.

If you go to Stevens Creek, they send it to a 3rd party to do the replacement. This 3rd party screwed up my TPS but Stevens will replace them for free. Fernandito7, I can ask their Z mechanic (Gary) if a having a TT kit will prevent them replacing your tires for free. Why not just buy a nice new set to complement that TT?

THanks lemansca let me know what happens. MGV156 i really dont want any new tires if i can get them for free. I dont do any drag racing. And i really dont want to spend any of my money for something that is nissans fault. My car is down for now since one of the metal lines from the power steering melted and threw out all my power steering fluid. WHat had happened was thta the passenger turbo was rubbing against the lines of the PW and caused it to rupture. THe rupture got bigger and bigger till it was too late. I alreayd ordered a new line and willhave my mechanice customize it so that it wont rub anymore or heat wrap it or something. MGV156 please ask their mechanics about any mods that one may do. I know that the warranty will only be void on a certain part if that part was damaged by the mod. Also ask about the trannyi;s I know that the Z's trannys have had some problems like grinding and i would want to know if they will replace it even though i have a TT .

What's up man! I remember having to take off my Injen CAI 3x just to have Capitol Nissan diagnose my check engine light. I think having a turbo will definitely void your warranty since it's not Nissan certified, but I'm sure it'll draw a crowd when the mechanics see it. Your tire replacement can probably fly by though. I can still ask Stevens Creek's mechanic regarding your issues. As for the tranny, I think the first batch (first 5000 cars) of Zs were the only ones affected.

Happy to report that i have 2 NEW front tire!!

Also ck'd with the service advisor. They claim that if u want to use the recall, NO mod to the suspensions....or remove all mods to the suspension before bring it in. As for engine mod... sounds like it should be ok since it has nothing to do with the suspensions... which is the recall.

he did add a disclaimer, they will try everything NOT to replace your tires.... what's new!!!

good luck! and hope u get those lines fixed soon.

LeMansZCa,

You went to Fremont Nissan? How was their service? Who was your service advisor?

Im about to take mines in for the feathering. I usually go to Capitol but Fremont is closer to where I live.

yeah, i went to the Fmt Nissan.

My service advisor was Trishna? she was ok. Nothing special. I am still not use to Nissan/Mazda/Ford place... but it is close to my house...

don't have high expectation, then the experience can't get too bad

i haven't found anything they screw up yet! even got a car wash!
