Default Sonoma/Napa/Lake county drive

Ok, trying to set up a drive for those of us north of the Gate. Of course anybody in the Bay can join up if you want the extra drive.
Here's the route I propose and I did it this way so it would be accessible to a larger group. Not necessarily for the whole drive though.

It would start out in Santa Rosa, head east over the hills to the Silverado Trail and out 128 to Winters. Then up north to Rte 16 and stop at Cache Creek casino for "lunch". From there we continue north to Rte 20 and over to Clear Lake. Go north around the lake (could stop at another casino in Nice) connect with Hwy 175 to Hopland. From there 101 back to Santa Rosa.

I figure this would be about 250 miles and driving time 6 hours not including stops for lunch or gambling . Anybody that didn't want to go all the way to Hopland could head south on 29 from Clear Lake or we all could and it would cut about an hour off the total.

We could have 2 meeting places. One for those from Napa/Vallejo at 128 and again in Winters for anybody from Sacto/Eastbay.

This route also makes it a little easier for those that aren't into total straight time in the twisties. We can do that another time (Hwy 1, Skaggs, 128 ) for a shorter but more intense drive.

I'm suggesting July 17 or 24 for a drive.

Anybody want to commit?

I have plans the 17th ... so the 24th would work better for me...
I'd be down Maybe I could even have my new suspension by then

Oh, and thanks for stepping up to this task Bill!

We could even invite Krinkov and his All Wheel Drive Grocery Getter...

Oh, Bill... you could give Ken Gray a call if you have his number, too... He doesn't seem to come on the boards much.

Dan,
Yea I could. I don't want to start contacting individuals until we have more of the ones that said they wanted to get together. Also if it ends up only being maybe 5 cars then I'm thinking of changing the route to something more local and shorter.

Maybe the heading wasn't worded right to draw attention.

I could also AIM Josh (JoshTreeFitty), but I don't think he's over 21 ... is Cache Creek 18+ ?

We don't have to stop at a casino. It was just a thought. There are others on the route. I can check age restrictions.

So far the following people say they would like to go. I'm going to set the date for July 24th (just for Dan ).

Zwindsor
Neur0sis
Fowlman01
03_350

I've also just PM'd Kengray, Anna and Josh. I'll email 2 others I know.

Dan, I double checked on the casino age issue. We could skip Cache (21) and go to Robinson Rancheria (18) which is on our route too, just further along in the route. Our first break would have to be someplace other then Cache.

If anyone would like to make a route change or have any suggestion where else to stop out by the 505 or along 16 feel free.

Bill

Well, I was hoping to get to HIN in Chicago with my boyfriend on the weekend of the 24th, however, I haven't technically been invited nor know any of the plans he has nor do I have the money.. (what's new).. so if I'm not going out there I will FOR SURE be going with you guys!

I could really use a stop at the casino.. I always win at the slot machines

Sounds fine by me. It would be nice to meet you in person. Who is going to surf the net for you while you are out driving
around?? I don't think I will launch my Z like that though.........not enough clearance and my days of leaving sparks on the road are over.
