ClubZ track day Nov. 11th (registration now open!!!)
It's almost that time again kids! ClubZ track day at Thunderhill. It's been almost 6 months since ClubZ has run an event so I'm sure there are more than a few of us that are getting eager.
For those of you that are thinking about tracking for the first time this is the group to run with. A very forgiving course with a great club. ClubZ typically runs Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced groups so there is a speed for everyone.
Hopefully we'll see some new faces at this event!

I'll be signing up....although I wish they would either drop A and have 2 different B sessions....or allow some B drivers in the A session. From what I remember, B was extremely crowded.

Our events are structured to provide a safe environment, good instruction, tons of track time, and the lowest possible price! This event promises to build on our past successes and be a fun event for all! If you've never brought your Z to the track to see what it can do, you are missing out on a great experience. You can even invite your friends as all makes and models are welcome.
Registration slots can only be held for 3 days without payment and Z Car Garage has signed on to sponsor technical inspections for Club Z Track events. You are now able to have your car inspected 7-14 days before the event at their San Jose location by appointment only. Please have your techlist ready when you go. Those that know the hectic couple of hours before the first on-track session will appreciate getting this done ahead of time. Oh forgot to mention Shorty's is closed down so I wonder where dinner will be this year. Maybe Round Table? And for those of you worried about Shorty- not to worry- We found out he closed down the BBQ to open a Starbucks in Willows

Can anyone recommend a helmet and where to buy it? Also, how much do they normally cost?
This is gonna be my first track day (and probably not my last), so I figure I might as well buy a helmet now instead of forking over $25 for a rental each time.

I bought mine at Frey Racing (off Mission). But I heard a rumor that they closed - can anyone confirm?
You can pick one up a solid one for ~$200-$350. Bell makes some nice helmets in this price range.

So there are no more excuses, we usually caravan up.
