I have a absolutely mint Canon EF-S 17-55IS f/2.8 and equally mint Sigma 30EX. Both are about 18 months old.
The 17-55 IS is completely dust free, because I installed a Hoya DMC Pro1 clear protector on day 1. And, I also wiped down the barrel of the lens with a microfiber cloth from time to time. This prevented any dust from getting sucked in to the lens, as can happen with these 17-55's. It performs flawlessly. I bought it new from Amazon when our daughter was born, and its been the best money I ever spent. However, while this lens was the best thing that ever happened to my DSLR body, it was also the reason I left the rig at home alot. It's heavy. And big. You wont forget you have it with you, even if you wear it with a sling. I decided to try a m43 OM-D and found I can match (not beat) my Canon gear. And I can forget I'm carrying the OMD.
I'd like $950. Comes with box, papers, non-OEM hood and $65 protection filter (it's not some tiffen junk).
I would prefer a local sale. I would drive alittle to meet you if you're in the south central area. I can take paypal if you have a good iTrader here and a reasonably lengthy time as a member here.
Also, an equally LNIB Sigma 30 for $385. Loved this lens too.. Also includes box, paperwork, case, $50 clear Hoya filter and hood.. is also still under warranty with Sigma. Has always focused perfectly without calibration or MA.
Let me know if you have any questions.
