?'s on buying a Z on Oahu
I'm buying a 350z soon but got some questions.
First, how much should I expect to pay for an 05 enthusiast? It seems that theres a $3-4000 markup at the dealers I went to. So should I expect to pay this or can I negoitiate closer to MSRP, or even better, invoice.
Second, do you have any tips that will get me the best possible deal. Like, is there anything you did that you wish you did differently.
And finally, which dealer will give me the least amount of hassle for warranty, because I plan to have some aftermarket parts. Nothing big like a fully built motor (i can do that after warranty is up), but things like rims or exhaust at first. I guess if I have to, I can always take things off.
Thanks in advanced

you do live in hawii,i thought every thing cost more out there so im not realy that suprized on the mark up. as for best deal i say buy a pre owned one. thats what i did, and i payed 20k back in july for an 03 enthuisast with 25k miles. the warrenty will be gone quicker this way so you dont have to worrie about that. and you pay much less for the car.
I was origanlly looking to buy preowned, but theres nothing really good out there. Its either poorly taken care of, or to high of an asking price, heavily modded, or just the wrong color.
I don't mind paying more for the exact car I want but, I would like to save as much as possible.

I just seen an add for New City Nissan. An 05 Enthusiast was $29k. I bought my 04 Performance from New City and don't have any problems with them. I'm on my second Nissan from them and would get another when it's time.
I've read a few tips on new car purchases. I think the most important ones were: Don't let them know you really want the car and Never buy one on your first visit. I like to go towards the end of the month too.

ANSWER: You can actually get it below MSRP. Try Tony or New City. They're volume dealers, so you can get a better deal there. DO NOT pay the Mark Up, or even MSRP! Take your time.
Second, do you have any tips that will get me the best possible deal. Like, is there anything you did that you wish you did differently.
ANSWER: If you know the sales Manager, I would go that route and bypass the Salesman. He/she can give you the better deal.
And finally, which dealer will give me the least amount of hassle for warranty, because I plan to have some aftermarket parts.
ANSWER: If you treat the Service Dept well, you can get warranty work done, even on your modified ride, to a certain reasonable extent. I did

Thanks for the help guys.
So how do I negotiate. Do I just say how much I want to pay and leave if they can't come close or what? My friend told me to be willing to walk out even if its that exact car I'm looking for (color and options wise), would this be a good idea? It seems like it would just make me look like a jerk and then they wouldn't even deal with me if I ever came back because i can't find another car.
Whats the reson for this? Is it because they need to meet a quota or something?

1. Give them a price that's just above Dealer's cost and go from there. You'll eventually reach a middle ground where both parties will be "Happy", and hopefully, where you were willing to spend in the first place. This takes time and patience.
2. Give them a fair market price (you can get an idea from Edmunds.com) and tell them that this is the price you're willing to pay, and no more. This is the no nonsense approach.
Either approach, you have to be ready to walk away and possibly never come back to that Dealership; however, that's unlikely since they're likely to call you up the next day or so to get you to come back; as long as you're serious about buying in the first place.
Buying at the end of the month or model year is good due to quota and "overstock" inventory. Check out Edmunds.com for some good tips about buying/leasing.
