Posted here instead of the audio forum because I figured Hawaii people might have a better idea of the pricing.

I'm doing some research for a system I plan to purchase in a few months. I know very little about car audio beyond what I can derive from the forums here and a system I purchased in 2001. Today I went to Tsunami's (I'm on Maui) and got the following quote (I may be off on some of the info because I can barely read the guy's writing):

Deck: Alpine 9855 - $449 plus 100-120 install and 19.95 kit
Fronts: MB Quart (I think it's the PSC 216) - $400 plus 100 install
Rears: Boston Acoustics (I think it's FX6?) - $89 plus 40 install
Front Amp: JL 300/4 - $550 plus 70 install and 30 wiring
Subs: JL Stealthbox - $500 plus 50 install (and then something about CPS ground being included?)
Sub Amp: JL 500/1 - $500 plus 50 install and 30 wiring and 25 (2 additional something or other)

Total price is around 3k plus tax.

1. How reasonable are these prices? Keep in mind that I'm on Maui, I can't install a system myself and I don't know anyone who can install it for me.

2. Are there cheaper brands with equivalent/better performance that I should be considering? I'm open to just about anything, though I would prefer to keep the Stealthbox because I like the low-profile look.

3. Is there anything missing from this list that should be in there? I wondered if maybe I should be getting a cap or something.

I also got a quote for a couple of Viper alarms. Viper 5000 is $350 plus 40 for power lock interface. Viper 350 is $199 plus 40 for power lock interface. These prices include installation, I think. How reasonable are they?
