Angry Went to the tracks last nite...

And the best I could get was a 14.8 at 94 mph. I know, I need to pratice my launching (2.3 60' was the best I got), but my E.T. isn't whats concerning me, its my trap speed. I have read all over the forums and people are getting 99-102 mph traps. And since trap speed is more about the cars power more than driver ability, does this mean my car is low on power.

So I'm just wondering what every one else gets here in hawaii (HRP to be exact). Also need tips on launching. I either rev to high and get lots of wheel hop and tire spin, and when I rev lower, I bog off the line.

P.S I got a 2005 enthusiast and no mods.

do you have an automatic or manual?

i had an automatic roadster and the best i was able to get was a 14.5 at 95 mph. that was stock. after my mods- pop charger, grounding wires, hi-flow cats, japtrix y-pipe, fujitsubo cat back exhaust, my best time was 14.6@95 mph. i am sure that if i had an ecu re-flash i might have been able to get that down a bit more.

for me, i got the best launches if i held on the brakes and revved up to about 2200 rpms.

as far as the trap speeds, hrp is messed up. i heard that there is actually a slight incline to the track... although i saw one of my friends trap at 98 mph (he said he got a 100 trap once) with a stock 6mt base model.

Rev about 3-4.5k and feather the clutch out fast but don't pop the clutch to cause an burn out...I add again don't pop the clutch. Another note when feathering the clutch out you will break traction but don't make it a spin out. As your freathering the clutch floor the car when coming off the line and try power shifting that might help you trap speed and reduce your quarter mile time. Good Luck on practicing and trying to get your launch down pack.

Please scan and post your time sheets, and I’d be more that happy to comment.

I got a 6mt and I also heard about that incline. That sucks if that's true. And if your friend got a 98 on his 6mt, I guess I'm really doing something stupid.

I don't have a scanner but here are my times.
Reaction---0.661
60'--------2.368
1/8 ET---- 9.672
1/8 MPH---75.79
1/4 ET-----14.839
1/4 MPH---94.14

Anybody else race at HRP, comments are welcomed. Even though a couple of days passed, that 94 mph trap speed is still bothering me. I know I suck at racing so didn't really expect a low ET, but I still wanted a higher trap.

P.S. It didn't seem like anybody else was running great that night. I was able to beat a couple of my friends (a S2000 and a SR 240sx), a couple of srt4 were in the 15's, and I beat an rx8. I guess it wasn't that bad of a night for me
