sick to my stomach...
so I was walking to work in mapunapuna after dropping my Z off at my body shop and I witnessed one of the most disgusting things I've seen in a while. I saw a chrome silver touring Z bottomed out and hanging on a ramp rail. for those of you familiar with masa's cafeteria, I guess this guy was driving down the exit ramp (this parking lot is a small 20 stall, 5 foot elevated type) and somehow drove the front right of his Z right off the side of the ramp. so basically his Z only had 3 or 2 wheels touching the ground and while his suspension was holding the rest of the car up. the sick part was that this ramp has your standard 4 inch parking blocks on both sides of it so this guy must have really hit them hard to get his Z over it. I didn't get to see how it actually happened but I did witness the owner trying to reverse his way off the blocks which was painful to see as I could only imagine the kind of damage he was doing to the poor car. if by chance the owner of that Z visits this board, sorry, but your an idiot.
That ramp is pretty steep. I wouldn't even attempt to drive my car into that lot.
Another bad ramp in that area is at Affordable Casket. When you're exiting that lot, it's so steep that you can't see the ramps (there are two), and can totally miss them by going out in the middle (I know cause I did this). And yes, I hit bottom.
But, the reason why I was in their lot in the first place is another story...

I scrape the underside of my car almost everyday. My driveway is really steep. And the tards at the condo installed a security gate, but the metal guide for the gate is about an inch tall, and its at the peak of the driveway, so yeah...you see my dilemma. I come in at an angle and people think im crazy for driving in on the wrong side.

Got a total 180 of that problem when I leave the drive and the main road are at a sharp angle and my aero dam (black plastic strip under the nose) scrapes. So I too gotta come in all ****-eyed, slow and turn my wheels lock to lock to keep from scraping.

I try to be more careful after the Affordable Casket incident. In that area, the only place to eat is at Big Kahuna's. Unfortunately, they are so-o-o-o busy, it takes too long to get your food.

I'd hoped that wasn't you. and big kahunas is def good, I usually call in my order before I go. I think I've seen that deck or somthing similar to it was back a couple yrs ago when I first started researching Z's. its a double din deck so it should fit perfectly in the Z, plus the aluminum type finish and circular "gauge" type display look like it was specifically designed for the Z. looks sweet al, I can't wait to see it installed.
Yup, its double DIN. I just finished installing it this morning. It took me a few days to find screws to mount it. Its a strange size, M5x8mm coarse thread. Couldnt find coarse threaded screw/bolts anywhere. I ended up grinding longer ones down.
No pics yet, but I will take some. Matches quite nicely.
BTW, If anyone needs the dash kit for a single DIN deck install, I have the rest of my Metra kit. $10

So now I have a "sick to my stomach" story...
I was leaving the Chevron station (where I park) after work, and my Z and a POS (that was driven by the owner of the gas station) kissed bumpers.
He was looking and going straight across me, into a parking stall (didn't expect me to be coming out of their driveway), and I was just starting off after waiting for another car that was trying to park (in front of me). The corner of our two front bumpers hit, and of course the POS only had scratches on it's rubber bumper.
So, he's calling his insurance company, and I need to wait until tomorrow to see what he's going to do about the damage to my car.
On a better note, now I can get the front license plate bracket removed, and not have any existing holes. (Gotta see the positive in this.)
