Where to get oil?
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to buy either Royal Purple or Amsoil? I'm currently running mobil 1 5w30 (which you can get pretty cheap from sam's club), but I wanna switch to either a royal purple or amsoil 10w30. I know Daiei carries royal purple, but I think it's kind of expensive there. Anyone know of anyplace that carries Amsoil here? Thanks.
servco sells it, but only 5w30 (and I want 10w30). I guess I'll check out some of the locations list on the royal purple website. I just figured some of you guys here used the stuff and might know of a good place to get it.
FYI after checking around I found the place w/ the best price on royal purple is the salt lake checkers at $5.49/qt. the best and possibly only place w/ amsoil is chucks corvette shop at $6.29/qt.

not sure if anyone cares, but here is an update. checkers has raised their prices on RP to $7-$8/qt. the best place I've found now is daiei when they're running a sale at $5.49/qt. I also found this info on amsoil.

Torco and Mobil 1 are better oils. Not saying AMSoil and Royal are bad oils cause they're not. But I'd hardly say that they're great oils. Actually I don't like AMSoil. I wouldn't run it in my car. I've proven torco on the dyno. 6 whp on one car. Starting next week I'm gonna try out Greddy oil. Curious. If it works out we'll we'll start selling it.

I'm not expert on oil. but I tried mobil one full syn in my Z and it burned about a quart per change. maybe its a VQ thing or maybe its only certain VQ's, however I haven't had that problem since switching to RP.
Mobile 1 is crap! its not true synthetic, its petrolium based with synthectic additives, call Mobile one and ask then what their base oil is made from.
Dont lsten to peoples opinions, get the facts for yourself, go to Amsoils website and see the prrof, independantly proven from a third party lab.
Motul, Amsoil and Elf are the ONLY three TRUE ester based full synthetic oils on the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything else is a wannabe! This is not opinion, this is fact, I'm not here to get into a pissing match with anyone, but I hate misinformation, If you like Mobile 1 good for you but dont say its better because its proven not to be!!! Do a search there are many threads on this debate.

+1 for motul. I have them in both my race bike and my TZ, recently in my car. I like how it smells.
I've had RevTek bring in a case for me when they had to restock.

FYI just picked up some amsoil gear oil 75w90 at Chuck's Corvette Clinic off Ward Ave for about $8/qt. the 10w30 was about $7/qt. I was also checking around for some coolant and New City Nissan wanted $26/gal for the OEM stuff.
